I don't like paying to play games I've already bought as much as the next guy but the networks these companies have produced are amazing. Sony's now allows you to stream your gameplay to another PS4 owners console and play local MP with them... like they are in the same bloody room. That's bloody amazing!

You think this crap doesn't cost money?

It's not a problem of having a subscription service or not, the problm is when it when they block part of the content you already bought under a paywall. Do these companies have to ransom us with the online mp to sell us the rest of the features? Instead of... you know, selling those features individually, without any ties to other services whatsoever?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

They have stated that these free virtual console games will be updated to have online functionality which is a big deal for most as they did not previously have this feature.

Source: http://www.nintendo.com/switch/online-service/

"Subscribers will get to download and play a Nintendo Entertainment System™ (NES) or Super Nintendo Entertainment System™ (Super NES) game (with newly-added online play) for free for a month."

....For a month, oh dear

Pretty sure it means the game will only be free to purchase during the month the promotion runs and expire after meaning its no longer available for free once the month is over and a new game is promoted. Though it is iffy wording so maybe look for details to that as they come to be certain.

I blame Microsoft

No, it's your fault.

I know, it's always my fault.

Zelda has online mp now?

by the way forget its switch presentation today

The cold hard truth is, Microsoft and Sony have an infrastructure worth paying for, Nintendo doesn't

How unfortunate, it was actually Sega made it first with their services, those services were called Sega Channel and SegaNet. Then Microsoft took a note from Sega's old business model.
