im not talking about graphics, im talking about the game itself. there comes a point where lowering resolution and AA wont cut it, and the hardware is too week to run the game.

Hmmm still don't agree man, I mean, look at gta v on pc and gta v on xbox 360. It's not like the switch is gameboy, you can expect the same games with less detail. And is not like you can do much with the hardware of the one and ps4. Sure, if the game was an exclusive by ND on ps4 I would understand, but the game is a third party game that needs to run on different systems and settings.

but GTA5 was built for PS360. the PC is a port, with enchanced graphics. however GTA5 does help me with my point. as the PC/XB1/PS4 versions have the FPS mode, and that wasnt patched in for the PS360 because the systems couldnt handle it, even though the game was built from the ground up for those two systems.

Definitely can see it, Wii U had AC3 and AC4, so its not to imagine Switch has at least one.

And it will be the only AC coming to Switch

Are you from future!?

Even Wii U had two AC games, why are you so sure Switch will have just one!?

if this is true, then good bye for a hope that the next assassins creed would be worth a damn. if they want to regain interest in the series, dont limit it by making their next game have to run on a .15 teraflop device. use the power that the PS4 and XB1 consoles have to create an epic world.

Jesus!

Anyway...... No surprise here. Ubi is even making a rabbidsxmario......... Glad the third party support is getting bigger.

Did the Vita get an AC Game? Portability sounds nice.

Pocky Lover Boy!

If the next assassins creed is similar to unity or syndicate I dont think ubisoft would bring it to the switch . And heres why - http://www.gamespot.com/articles/ubisoft-explains-why-assassins-creed-unity-is-skip/1100-6422777/

Yeah mad disappointing news if true. The previous games Unity and Syndicate wouldn't run on the Switch.

The next AC is supposed to be a major overhaul of the series, I'm expecting it to be similar to Witcher 3 in scope.

Play crysis 3 on pc at max settings, a game that still look better than anything on new consoles was developed years ago to run on pc with those settings and  on the ps3, scalability, the same answer. Play street fighter on pc at max settings, then play the same game on the 3ds. Same answer.

It's really basic for game development. Now it's easier cause they are developing all the versions at the same time. If parity exists, it's a problem between consoles and pc, not between consoles. Maybe the ps4 can do something that the xbox one can do with less details, same with the switch.

Pointless in my opinion, they should instead make a AC: Rogue like game

Where do you get this nonsense? AC4 was on Wii U and it was one of the best ACs to date. I didn't see any limits on that one on PC.

it was also on the PS3 and XB1. it was a cross gen title. im not talking about limits graphically, but limits to the size of the world, the number of objects on screen, the dialogue, number of NPC's, complexity of the AI, animations (which are extremely important to AC games). if they want to make sure the same game runs on hardware that is 12 weaker than the PS4. then sacrifices will be made. no way around it. i had hope when the leaks of this game happened, and it said it was influenced by The Witcher 3, but if its coming on switch, then a lot of the things TW3 did right wont be able to be done on this.

None of the things you mentioned were limited in AC4 and none of the following ACs could claim to be any bigger or complex despite being on much stronger hardware. A mindless open world game like AC is very easily scalable without sacrificing gameplay.

So basically your fears have no basis in reality. If Ubi really does want to inflict suffering on themselves by trying to make it run on the Switch, that's fine. That does not mean the other versions will be gimped in any way.

Why wouldn't they be able to run on the Switch? Stop spreading fud. You can scale back AI, geometry, textures, number of objects, view distance, resolution, lighting, shadows and a lot more and it would run on a toaster without any detriment to the core gameplay.

Basically the same things that could've been done to the PS4 version to not make it run like shit.
