150+ Gflops (neogaf) when not docked, abit under what the Wii U is.

Its decent as a handheld.

As a home console I was hopeing for abit more "oompf" to it.

Because the thread was about power? The xone is like 4 times more powerful than a wii u and switch is like 2.5 more powerful than a wii u when the device is docked, that's like 1.5 behind xbox one, hardware wise that's close.

And I don't care about the power at all, i have my pc for that, I care about the concept and the games, but I see people that don't even know how these consoles work whining because some media site told them that the switch is not powerful enough, and now "omg I'm so disappointed pre order cancelled" so they don't even care about the games or concept?? I think I held a fairly realistic outlook on the Switch. This thing is a handheld. It's not housed in a big box with fans, heat syncs, and other such components we find in modern consoles. If we have a small package, and if the rumours are to be believed, a small price, then there's absolutely no way we can expect the same power as current gen consoles. And we know that a 500+ dollar Nintendo Switch would get annihilated. So Nintendo is doing what they have to do, given what we know of it already.

That being said, I have about a 95% realistic expectations, and about 5% holding out hope that Nintendo surprises us with something awesome. But either way, I'm purchasing this day one. I will buy whatever system lets me play Nintendo-developed games.

No i simply think we should wait till proven, i have a pc and ps4 anyways

It's not 1.5 behind XBO. Docked - 400Gflops XBO - 1.3Tflops It's a little less than a third. I don't think it's about people having a "boner for power" they're not after the MOST powerful system otherwise they'd never be interested in the switch even prior to this news. I was on the fence when I thought it was going to be a 600Gflop system and expected 400 Gflop's undocked. I didn't expect 400 Docked and 150 Undocked. It's not about wanting a power-house such as the 1080. It's about wanting a device that is powerful ENOUGH, that is somewhat competent. How long will this device last? Are we going to be gaming on a 400Gflop "home console" in 2020? Alongside the ps5 and next xbox? Such a pitiful device doesn't deserve a free pass cause it's nintendo. If this was an Xbox/PlayStation you would mock the shit out of it.
