Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Soraya Saga retweets Switch reveal for Jan 12.

If Nintendo REALLY wants to start pushing XC as a franchise, an remaster set of the first two for Switch launching in 2017 coinciding with a teaser for the next XC could be a fantastic way to drum up attention as well as address technical issues with XCX and do XC some justice.

Monolith Soft have ~ 120 peoples, team A made Xenoblade X for Wii U, team B made Project X Zone 1 & 2 for 3ds(both in Tokyo). Team C in Kyoto help making other Nintendo IP such as Zelda, Super Smash, even Animal Crossing and Splatoon

Xenoblade really isn't my cup of tea. I looks amazing, but just not for me.
That said, if it's another Xenoblade game, i'm more than ok with that. Even if that means just looking at pretty graphics! :D
Still, i wouldn't mind them doing something else too. They release, what, 1 game per generation? Really hope they change that.

That is not true. In Wii/DS era, Monolith Soft have two team. Team A made Xenoblade for Wii and Soma Bringers for DS. Team B made Dragon Ball Attack of The Saiyans, Super Robot Taisen OG Saga - Endless Frontier, Super Robot Taisen OG Saga - Endless Frontier EXCEED for DS and Disaster Days of Crisis for Wii. Team C(be expanded later) worked on Zelda Skyward Sword

Well, if it's any consolation Takahashi said he is taking reception into account for the next installment. Nintendo never done that.

That's good to hear, though to say Nintendo never listens to feedback isn't quite true. Aonuma sped up sailing in WWHD, Sakurai made sure to address Brawl's problems in Smash 4 (terrible online, tripping, etc.), Fire Emblem Fates balanced Awakening's broken af mechanics, Pokemon Sun/Moon finally drop HMs, and so ons.

Not to mention that Breath of the Wild is the way it is due to all the Skyward Sword criticism. At least that's one of the reasons.

I actually didn't know that.

Still, even if they had them during the Wii/DS era, they are probably gone. XC X probably started development after Xenoblade, which got released in 2011?
And so far they did assist on some Nintendo games, but that means that they don't have enough staff to develop two games like XC X in one generation. It's really too much for them.
That's why they need to increase their staff.

They're a utility studio as well so they aid in other first party projects like Smash and Zelda.

They helped in Smash too? Did not know that...

Still, they can and should get big enough to at least develop 2 games per generation.
Them helping out Nintendo shouldn't stop them from doing that.

It's like Retro: talented but not efficient enough.

They helped with Splatoon too!

Yeah, their whole Kyoto branch seems to be deligated to that as their main function currently. Here's hoping they get to develop something on their own soon enough.

We wouldn't have gotten Wind Waker or Metroid Prime or Wii sports if all they did was listen to complaints. Heck the DS and the Wii were met with criticism and doubt initially.

I think you got the wrong quote, but either way I know what you're getting at. But listening to see what kind of experience fans are wanting doesn't mean changing every little nitpick. Developers need to know when to creatively put their foot down. But it can give them direction. As someone said, the sailing in the original seemed far too slow in the original, so they sped it up a bit. Creatively it's still in tact. Just like (I imagine) what Monolith Soft is going to take away from fan reception is a more focused story, a soundtrack that is more classically based like Xenoblade on Wii, and they are currently hiring 3d character designers as of Aug 31st. All things I think would better serve the Xeno series in whole.
