Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Is there any Nintendo "leaked" or patented design you liked?

Just wanting to see what you folks think of the leaks and designs for the console we've seen thus far. Does anything grab you?

I do like the concept of separating pieces. It could allow for varied gameplay, and certain things could really benefit from it. Such as a fighter would be better with certain type of stick.

Yup. I don't really care for most of their "innovation" proposed so far, but I do like the idea of expandable power through a SCD. The dial shoulder buttons have subtle, surprising potential, I think. And a touchscreen with a unique shape could look cool, though I'm not into touch screens. Oh and, the projector thing with motion sensing could potentially be neat.

So I guess there are a few things I like, more than I thought. Mostly I'm not into handhelds, so I'd like something more console-based.

I'm inot the SCDs and I feel sexually attracted to the Mouse wheel-like triggers

This is essentially the things that have my attention too. I think rotary shoulder buttons could essentially change a lot of games for the better. So could a SCD, but I figured we may not see that out the gate... who knows though.

I think the concept is a sound one, but wonder how well it will work in practice, and how much are they going to expect people to pay for those extra pieces.

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

What is SCD?

I don't really like the idea of repeating tablet-gamepad again to begin with. But we'll see. If NX will have good games it won't matter
