Forums - Nintendo Discussion - My Nintendo - Did anyone else get gold coins for a 4.99 game?

I don't know, I have yet to see a decent discount outside of those free Picross games, so I haven't paid that much attention to the gold coins. I also have one question: if one day I spent 17€ and the next I spent 3, do they count as 20€, or do they reset after a while?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I bought 4 Nes games and none of them gave me points. I think the minimum is 5 dollars, but in USA. In Europe how much does a Nes game costs?

€4.99

I haven't bought one since My Nintendo exists.

That's weird then, I doubt the game you bought had a discount right?

Maybe in Europe you all have that benefit  :/

Even when a game is bought at discount, the original price is what nets you the gold coins.
The 10 coins you got were based on the 9.99 price.

Perhaps it still counts as a 9.99 game? If I remember correctly you always got full points for games back when we had Wii U Premium, irregardless of any discounts. The same might apply here.

Edit: beaten by a tomato...

Secret Files: Tunguska is normally €9.99, but was 50% off, so €4.99. I guess it's possible that this was circumstancial and only works if a discounted game is €4.99. Or that it only applies to Europe.

Perhaps I should look through the NES games that are available on Wii U and buy one of them. It has to be something I want though, because I am not going to buy one randomly just to see if it results in gold coins.

Oh that's the reason. When having a discount the original price is what is considered. Last month I bought two games at $1 each and received my points.

Yeah I can confirm the coins you get are based on the original price, not the discounted price. I bought splatoon during the e3 sale for like $40 and it still gave me 60 coins. I don't know if it's intended or a bug but it certainly gives me more incentive to buy games.

The Swapper for €1 was a great deal. Should have jumped on it then.

It gives more incentive to buy games at discount prices, yeah, I agree.
And use the My Nintendo rewards to net more coins... rinse and repeat.

Yes! Games with huge discounts. And what do you mean? You get more coins for the games you get as rewards? Because I used some of the coins to get pikmin dlc but that gave me nothing.
