Forums - Politics Discussion - If Donald Trump is elected, how long until he invades and conquers Canada? Would you support it?

How would trump ever overcome the insurmountable Candian Army? ;)
But seriously, if the USA ever declared war on Canada, that would mean the USA would also have to fight most of Europe.

I know for a fact that the US Congress regularly reevaluates the plan of invading Canada - it's public, sometimes they even say it on the news. It's nothing new, the US Army has that scenario planned out. And... Why would anyone in Europe bother? Maybe France would get antsy about Quebec, but other countries? Majority of European countries don't give a crap about wars in Europe and I honestly think most wouldn't be helping their neighbours if they got attacked. Canada? Please...

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

We technically wouldn't have a choice. The NATO stipulates that any attack on NATO soil calls upon all NATO partners to aid the attacked country (which is a mechanism several countries have exploited already).

So technically, we would be obliged to turn the NATO against one of it's chief creators if it were to attack Canada.

Unfortunately, art. 5 of the NATO Treaty isn't what most people think it is. It's very lenient and open to interpretation. Sadly so.

That's what got us tangled up in way too many foreign interventions sadly.

It didn't try to.

Riiiiiiight. 20 years at war, only to lose because of lack of effort.

Right. The Vietnam War was a defensive one: defending South Vietnam against North Vietnam and Viet Mihn insurrection. That's part of the reason why no US forces ever entered North Vietnam. As a matter of fact, common NV and VC tactics was to retreat into neutral and North Vietnamese territories where US forces were not allowed to follow.

I'd advise against making those sort of statements.

This is why we should kill Trump.

It sure is his fault, that US has a plan of invading Canada that's regularely being updated for decades. I think he's responsible for bad weather as well.

How long to invade? Probably never, but if so not right away.

How long to conquer? About 30 seconds after invasion.

But were they actually based on art. 5? I'm not sure about that.
