Agreed. It's gonna be a great tournament, Austria, Belgium, Poland and France all have a legit shot at stopping Germany from getting the cup.

@OP - I think it's not even funny anymore that every single right-wing politicial is immediatelly called a nazi. And your analysis shows that you're probably not up to date with politics. Austria connecting with Germany? What? Who on Earth would want to join with Germany now? They became the leper of Europe. I see this guy's victory as a clear veto for Germany and its ridiculous policy. I think people see what Germany did to Austria with the immigrants, they see what V4 countries (especially Hungary - a special country from your point of view) did and they see which way to follow.

I personally hope, this means Austria cuts the close ties it has with Germany and instead turns to Central Europe. V4 (in you nomenclature - the notorious nazi alliance of the 21st century I guess ) would welcome you with open arms. Central Europe FTW!! Polish ABC strategy for the win!

I'm not right-winged(nor lefty), but I find it irritating how the left-wing has the option to say whatever the hell they want, which includes accusing people of being a nazi(something far worse than how people use the word). Yet, when a right-winged person states what they think, they get crap by everyone on the media.

it's absolutely bonkers. how hard is it for people to realize that the right combination of viewpoints is what helps us go forward? Left-wing people should realize they're not 100% right all the time, and not all their issues should be blamed on white people or the 1%

You can't be not PC and sensitive. Choose one.

If someone publicly states their opinion, they shouldn't get mad when he/she gets publicly scrutinized.

Is it time to worry about Austria? Of course it is.

There is a secret army of bears gathering in the mountains and preparing to invade Europe. A bit like the Chimera invasion. Only those with polar bear avatars will be spared.

Lol. I guess its good that I don't live in Europe :).

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Thank you for your valuable contribution to this thread.

It is an honor. But you know what they say. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. I'll just leave it at that.

What I mean is this- a right-winged person should be able to state their opinion and be criticized. However, the amount of bias against right-winged people is unreasonable.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

There's nothing wrong with calling people out.

Youre reaching

- the fpö was in the parlaments since half a century if you havent noticed.

- they are not a nazi party, anti immigration isnt nazism or racism. Look also at Japan and South Korea both first world countries who are almost 100% japanese or korean. Nobody call them racist or nazis.

- whats up with this xenophabia against germany? If someone is influencing anybody then its the current and long term trend in austria, like you mentioned. Why you come the idea that germany will take over austria ?

- the fpö is a great party

1. Yes, and at times they were even part of coalitions as the lesser party.

2. Japan has been repeatedly called xenophobic by Xbox fans. Also, here's an excerpt of an FPÖ song from over 20 years ago:

"Wo i geh und steh, [Wo ich geh' und steh',]
tuat mia mei Herz so weh, [tut mir mein Herz so weh,]
gibt's meina Sö an Stich, [gibt es meiner Seele einen Stich,]
weil i überoi Kanaken siech. [weil ich überall Kanaken sehe.]"

Nazi party, most definitely.

3. No, Germany will not take over Austria, rather Austria will join the German Reich.

4. Schlechte Rechtschreibung zieht Gesindel an.

Have you heard the songs from mordern german hip hop? why isnt this called racism? There are countless of examples in songs who insulting/are making fun of white people. The green parties even are sponsoring such songs

Give us some song titles .

No it's not, just because they're right wing doesn't automatically make them nazi's, there's a massive rise in right wing parties gaining more popularity in Europe ever since Isis have started bombing the continent and also using the refugee crisis to get "fighters" across the boarders.
To be fair I don't blame the rise in right wings either. Here in the UK out country is full enough as it is. Our schools are over crowded, the hospitals struggle to cope with the amount of patients and our jails are over crowded. There's people who have been on the housing list waiting for a house for years and they're instantly pushed back when migrants come over so the government can house the migrants first. And after all this the left wing leader in the uk wants to accept 3 million more migrants into the country! It's absolutely insane, none of them will have jobs or speak English, so the country will be paying for them, and then there's the threat that there's a massive chance there is going to be people in that group that want to spread hate and havoc against the us.
The way I see it, Right wing parties are much more realistic and the safer option.

You can't just join a country Especially if said country doesn't want you to join.

No one in german politics wants austia anywhere near the German federation. It's not even talked about. Ever. It's not even an option.

This wierd, bitter love/hate relationship Austria has with germany dates back to the very beginnings of the german federation. Prussia were the clear leaders of the initiative to get a unified germany and they didn't want anyone challenging their leadership, so they excluded Austria, which back then was the only nation that would have ben able to challenge them. Ever since then Austians have been salty about that.

Hitler finally got his wish when he annected Austia (I mean he had to have his home country in his reich, right?) and most Austrians were ecstatic about it, only to be excluded again after the war.

So, even if the FPÖ guy gets elected, I don't think Austria joining germany in any capacity has a snowballs chance in hell, you can rest easy on that front.

Overall the political situation in Austria in worrying though. The thing is, fear can only be combatted with education. And education takes time and money to achieve. You seem pretty reasonable rol, so maybe put your education to use next election.

I have knowledge of Austrian politics but I am not a huge fan of accusing people of being Nazis, there is so much more to being a nazi than being nationalistic and anti-immigration.

This, it's really discriminating how some people automatically associate these things with Nazism. In fact that's the problem, because it causes left political parties to not dare to even talk about the immigration problem in fear of labelled a racist or a Nazi. And that's what causing these parties to lose elections like in Austria.
