Forums - Nintendo Discussion - NX launch line-up if or, let's be honest, when it releases this year?

IMO new 3D Mario, Pikmin 4 and Zelda U port seem like safe bet for NX day one games.

Around the Network

1-Zelda;

2-Pikmin 4;

3-Smash 4 port;

4-new 3D Mario;

5-new IP(s) (?);

6-something big by third party (I'm thinking about FFXV IF it releases before the NX launch...)

Zelda U, Pikmin 4, 3D Mario, and a Wii Sports-ish game day 1. Plus, maybe something along the lines of the Wii U Karaoke game.

Smash is a maybe. It would be interesting if they did a VC version of Melee with online play, but a Smash 4 complete edition is more likely. Hopefully Gamecube VC games in general.

PS2 was announced 1.5 years before launch

PS3 was announced 1.5 years before launch

PS4 was announced 9 months before launch

That's comapring oranges and anvils. A company's business plan is rarely influenced by another's, especially with the consistency of Nintendo.

A company business plan is NEVER influenced by such hystorical events. There's absolutely nothing dictating how long before release a hardware needs to be announced.

You guys forgot about VII remake

There´s no chance at all of the game being released this year.

If it were any other company it would totally be possible but square can at least get the first episode out (if they keep the episodic idea) this year.

Nope, it was confirmed by Square that FFVII Remake is "2017 material"

If they said so then it can't be helped. I thought there was no word from them.

U missed the point, I'm saying history doesn't always repeat itself.

Right, I got that. I'm saying that Nintendo being consistent is as sure a thing as expecting a river to flow in the same direction every day.

Yes, that statement is true. However, if you have a friend that is ALWAYS late to parties, events, etc, would you suddenly expect them to show up early to the next one? Sure, they have the capability to show up early, but you know that its highly unlikely.
