If hes okay with watching someone else play the story for him, he could sit down and watch the Lets plays for a game or two, and then get the 4th when it comes out. However its a differnt thing to play a game, and watch it.

I've played UC3. Then went and bought 1 and 2 after. I saw the story in a odd order. Didn't hurt my experience. I actually tired figuring out how 3 stories elements linked into 1 and 2. And I got some right. So I had a game of my own.

Get the collection.



Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Maybe you're being sarcastic but there's no need to be an asshole, we dont know his situation and he says money is tight, cant afford both and is asking for advice. Maybe he has more important things to spend money on then just video game?

 

Back on topic. Do you have a ps3? If so you can pick up all 3 games for less then $20! Then if possible save up for U4.

 

However im assuming you probably dont have a ps3 so if you had to choose between the 2 i would say pick the collection. Since your interested in uncharted playing 1-3 before 4 is essential, specially 2! So you might not be able to play uncharted 4 on day 1 but save up and maybe you can afford it in the future!

No. I played the series out of order. And it didn't ruin it for me. 3, 1, 2. I didn't go ape shit: "OMFG I know this secret before I should have, oh noooooooooooo!" I played Resident Evil 4 as my first game. I didn't die from it. And RE0 is my fav. I watched season 4 of Doctor Who (relaunch) before I saw 1-3. I went back and enjoyed how these characters came to be.

He's played Uncharted 3 and already skipped 1 and 2 so I would say go with buying Uncharted 4. Story is weak on Uncharted 1 anyway.

If you havent played 1,2 and 3 till completion, the the collection is definitly worth it.

You will be droped in the middle of a series of events in Uncharted 4. Wont have the same impact if you don't know who is who and did what.

Your words were You'll hate yourself for not playing the new thing, when it comes.  And not playing the older ones are unnessary for enjoying the latest one, as you you mention in this 2nd comment.

Those are 2 different things, and the first think you said is a pretty rubbish opinion tbqh.

You'd hate yourself, either way. It's the choice. That's what I was going for. You buy the older games first: "Great! I understand the story. But I can't play the new one, for a while. I won't really be able to chat about it. I gotta avoid spoilers!" That's why I said get the new one first. Then go back and buy the old ones. I hated myself. When I couldn't get Pokemon Red, for a year.

Dude if you have a ps3 just get all 3 of them from gamestop, 5 bucks each. If not get the trilogy on ps4, because you can't just jump into the fourth one because it seems it's going to be the last one, meaning it's connected to the others.

The OP hasn't even played UC1 and that game is over 8 years old. I am sure it is not going to be a problem waiting a little while longer to play UC4.

 

If it wasn't a problem. Then the thread wouldn't exsist.
