I was singing Space Oddity just a few hours ago while driving. This is really depressing. I've always admired him and greatly enjoyed most of his music.

Terrible news.

Wildly inventive, unimaginably adaptable, extraordinarily talented. Just a brilliant musician, certainly my favourite.

A unique creator, he has influenced and pioneered so many musical styles. Exceptional and genuinely one of a kind.

He will sorely be missed.
