Forums - Sony Discussion - I'm buying a PS3 soon. Slim or Super Slim?

Since next year I'll be making more money than I ever have in my life, I've decided that I want to indulge in everything I missed out on from last gen. So I'm getting myself a PS3. Now, I think I trust you guys (maybe my first mistake?) enough to help me make the decision on which model to get. I know that the fat PS3 is the most unreliable. I'm looking for one which will last me years to come. Since each model has been out for at least over 3 years, I figured that maybe your experiences with the two models could help me. So, any reccomendations?

Also tell me when you actually got your models (April 2, 2014, Summer 2015, Christmas 2013, 2016, etc).

Persona 5, Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection, and the Uncharted trilogy were actually some of the first things I was planning on buying. :)

Super slim. Cheaper and longer life expectancy. (They aren't even producing Slims anymore so if you get one of those it will likely be pre-owned)

DO NOT get the 12gb model though. Dont even know how Sony is selling this as its a down right scam.

Any of them will work pretty well with proper care. Slim has most room for error I guess.

I only got my first one for Christmas, and I got a super slim (which the dudes at Gamestop called a "New K," which I've never heard in my life). It's super quiet, and I love the easy top-loading disc thing. So much better than my 360, which is annoying enough to get games in and out of even when the tray is working properly, which it rarely does.

Never interacted with a slim, but I can't see how it's better than this other than maybe how it looks, which I care none about.
