Original 3 then
Revenge of Sith, even with 'Ultimate power!' and 'Noooo!' scenes then
This tied with Clones, then
Phantom

Hmm, pie.

1. Empire Strikes Back
2. Return of the Jedi
3. A New Hope
4. The Force Awakens
5. Revenge of the Sith
6. Attack of the Clones

Yeah, I am not sure why people rank Empire Strikes Back so high. Is this some sort of conspiracy troll? The movie is not very good, probably the most boring of all the movies, it had a piss poor climax and the whole "I am your father" thing is cheesy as hell.

It's only cheesy as hell because everything has imitated it in the  nearly 35 years since it came out.  at the time it was absolutely huge.

But why is the movie considered good, especially today?

I think I need to watch it a second time before I can make a solid judgment. This is my ranking pre-Force Awakens:

1. The Empire Strikes Back
2. Revenge of the Sith
3. A New Hope
4. Return of the Jedi
5. The Phantom Menace
6. Attack of the Clones

I think The Force Awakens is definitely above A New Hope, very likely above Revenge of the Sith and maybe above The Empire Strikes Back, but as I said I'll need to watch it again to be sure. Right now if someone forced me to put it somewhere on the list I guess it would be in second place.

1. Force Awakens

With the exception of Kylo Ren and The Leader of First Order, everything else was better than the prequels and originals for me.

Better effects, better fighting, better acting, no Jar Jar, Implicit Jar Jar murder, kylo ren was actually good till he removed the mask, better protagonists

I'm sorry, but after looking it up I found out the planet that was destroyed wasn't Coruscant, so most likely Jar Jar is still alive.

That drops it in between 3 and 4 for me.
