Wow, I never imagined that I'd see ROTS ranked that low. What was the deciding factor?

That said, I liked every movie, even AOTC...

I don't care how you rank them if you put The Force Awakens above the New Hope you're over reacting to a new Star Wars being released. The Force Awakens was New Hope story with different characters, sort of like The Hangover II was The Hangover in Thailand with more gross jokes.

The reason I put TFA over ANH is because of the pacing/characters. While the story itself is very similar, I liked the pacing and characters in this movie more than in ANH. Empire and Jedi is where the cast and pacing of the originals drastically improves (in my opinion). However I wont deny that ANH is the most self contained story of the series, for obvious reasons, but still

didn't see The Force Awakens yet, but.... seriously? why so much hate for The Phantom Menace?

clearly the best of all 6, epic soundtrack and action scenes, many characters involved, iconic Darth Maul and so on... should be no surprise that it's the highest grossing movie of the franchise, and 14th of all time worldwide

most importantly the movie that introduced Star Wars to the modern world and turned many young people into fans, yet fans hate it? o_O

Stilted acting, CGI overload, Jake Lloyd, weird pacing, too much talking and sitting, and of course impossible audience expectations.

I actually fell asleep the first time I saw it but I watch the whole series several times a year. I watched Episode I about a week ago and really, really enjoyed it. Mostly, I was looking for "Darth Jar Jar" moments but the movie really pulled me in.
