Forums - Sony Discussion - Shuhei Yoshida States That "We ( Sony ) Have Work To Do" When It Comes To Releasing More "AAA" exclusive games.

After Andrew House stated earlier this year that the PS4 line-up is a little sparse. PS4 boss Shuhei Yoshida has now also said in an interview that Sony needs to work more on releasing triple A exclusive games on the PS4. He then went on to say that the lack of "AAA" exclusives games is due to the popularity of the PS4 where he feels that exclusives are not needed as much, due to an increase in third party games being released on the system.

I think the quantity is just fine. Now they only have to produce actual good AAA games like Motorstorm.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Yeah, I wouldn't buy a console for 3rd party. I'd buy a gaming PC. Honestly, at this point XB1 has overtaken my choice for which of the two to buy. It just has more promising exclusives, imo.

bet: lost

"..When a platform's doing well, third-parties support it more. So from a pure software standpoint, there'll be more competition. When the platform's not doing so well, our games become more prominent, and we get larger market share within the same platform."

Good to see they're acknowledging it. I mean, it's tough to compare the PS4 right now to the PS3's insane lineup, but it's hard NOT to get a little disappointed when we go from this insane barrage of exclusive after exclusive to a launch level lineup. More so when the big exclusive to buy on PS4 right now is a game that appeals to a very specific crowd.

It'll improve with time, I just hope they realize it's not AAA or bust. They were so good with that for a while last gen with the Ratchet games, Sly 4, Puppeteer, LBP, Resistance, inFamous and so on.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

At least they admit it. I'm not being sarcastic. Nintendo is over here acting like their 2015 line up is something to be coveted, while Sony, who has no reason to be humble about anything, is addressing my biggest criticism of the PS4 chin on. It genuinely makes it much easier for me to consider getting one, because they aren't pretending they're hot shit just because they're in first place. They are not hot shit, and I respect them for being ballsy enough to admit that.

if we are talking about First Party AAA exclusives i can see it (although next year is gonna be amazing with UC4, Horizon, Gravity Rush 2 and the TLG), but if we are talking about retail exclusives (that are not necessarily AAA or first party), then i myself can not even catch up with them, i wish i could buy Disgaea 5, Dragon Quest Heroes and Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax this month but im too broke now...

Not a surprise, but every company does right now.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.
