Forums - Gaming Discussion - Most Wanted: October 2015 Results!

First of all, I would like to thank everybody who voted (and even thank everybody who has ran this feature before!) It's pretty time consuming to try to compile all of the data and keep track of every game that is releasing for months and months at a time in advance!  We had 75 people send in their votes for Most Wanted. The votes were taken here and the voting for November starts right here!

The way I formulate the totals is based on both votes. In the event of a tie, I'll take in account the amount of people who are hyped about a specific game (So for example....Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem has the same score as Persona 5 for the PS4. One more person voted for SMT X FE, so that game gets the edge.) I will also make sure I include the points so you will be able to see when there is such a tie (so you can in your head say "yay! Persona 5 is one of the most anticipated games ever made!!)

Admittedly, I haven't compiled the listings by Developers. I have compiled them in several formats. Sony, Microsoft (including PC) and Nintendo. I have also seperated them out into their own systems as well (although I did condense PS3 and PSV together since the PS3 has such a limited amount of games releasing for it now). I also put together a pie chart to show the overall percentage that the top titles retained as well as the total votes per system.

Now, on with the fun stuff

1 Xenoblade Chronicles X (WiiU) 126 33
2 Zelda (WiiU) 103 26
3 Uncharted 4 (PS4) 57 18
4 Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem (WiiU) 53 18
5 Persona 5 (PS4) 53 17
6 Fire Emblem: Fates (3DS) 48 17
7 Horizon: Zero Dawn (PS4) 44 14
8 Fallout 4 (PS4) 40 11
9 Halo 5 (XOne) 31 8
10 Star Fox Zero (WiiU) 29 10
11 Ratchet & Clank (PS4) 26 8
12 Yoshi's Wooly World (Wii U) 24 8
13 The Last Guardian (PS4) 24 7
14 Final Fantasy XV (PS4) 22 8
15 Pokken tournament (WiiU) 18 6
16 Fallout 4 (PC) 18 5
17 Final Fantasy VII (PS4) 17 6
18 Dark Souls III (PS4) 16 4
19 Super Pokémon MD (3ds) 15 6
20 Kingdom Hearts III (PS4) 13 4
21 Tekken 7 (PS4) 12 3
22 Roller Coaster Tycoon World (PC) 11 4
23 Street Fighter V (PS4) 11 3
24 Mario and Luigi Paper Jam (3DS) 11 3
25 Star Wars Battlefront (PS4) 10 5

As you might remember from the last results thread, Xenoblade Chronicles and Zelda U are still at the top of the Most Wanted list. While the PS4 has many games that people are anticipating, that might be its downfall on the Most Wanted thread.  The PS4 landed with just short of 40% of the votes.

As for the top SKUs overall when you take out the systems, Fallout 4 seemed to be the title that gained the most ground. I included through 28 on this chart since there were so many titles that recieved 11 points in total.

1 Xenoblade Chronicles X 126
2 Zelda 103
3 Fallout 4 67
4 Persona 5 58
5 Uncharted 4 57
6 Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem 53
7 Fire Emblem: Fates 50
8 Horizon: Zero Dawn 44
9 Halo 5 31
10 Star Fox Zero 29
11 Ratchet & Clank 26
12 The Last Guardian 24
13 Yoshi's Wooly World 24
14 Final Fantasy XV 22
15 Kingdom Hearts III 18
16 Pokken tournament 18
17 Final Fantasy VII 17
18 Dark Souls III 16
19 Rise of the Tomb Raider 17
20 Super Pokémon MD 15
21 Star Wars Battlefront 13
22 Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 12
23 Tekken 7 12
24 Roller Coaster Tycoon World 11
25 Deus Ex: Mankind Divided 11
26 Street Fighter V 11
27 No man's sky 11
28 Mario and Luigi Paper Jam 11

This should also show you how well Xenoblade Chronicles and Zelda did against the competition. I figure I would post this chart since I don't want to make this into just nonstop pie charts. :P

As I stated earlier, the PS4 has a more titles than any other system that had votes for it. While it makes it a powerhouse in overall percentage of games chosen, it also makes it more difficult for just 1 title to stand out to the owners. Sony also has a few titles that are stretched through multiplatform releases.

Uncharted 4 (PS4) 57 Star Ocean 5 (PS4) 5
Persona 5 (PS4) 53 Estival Versus (PSV) 5
Horizon: Zero Dawn (PS4) 44 Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII (PS4) 5
Fallout 4 (PS4) 40 Just Cause 3 (PS4) 4
Ratchet & Clank (PS4) 26 Resident Evil 2 Remake (PS4) 4
The Last Guardian (PS4) 24 Atelier Sophie (PS4) 4
Final Fantasy XV (PS4) 22 Atelier Sophie (PSV) 4
Final Fantasy VII (PS4) 17 Persona 5 (Ps3) 3
Dark Souls III (PS4) 16 Arslan Senki Musou (PS4) 3
Kingdom Hearts III (PS4) 13 Attack on Titan (PS4) 3
Tekken 7 (PS4) 12 World of Final Fantasy (PS4) 3
Street Fighter V (PS4) 11 Fat princess adventures (PS4) 3
No man's sky (PS4) 10 Black Ops III (PS4) 3
Star Wars Battlefront (PS4) 10 Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel (PsV) 3
Hyperdimension Neptunia V-II (PS4) 9 Dragon Quest XI (PS4) 2
Uncharted: Nathan Drake Collection (PS4) 9 Dishonored 2 (PS4) 2
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel (PS3) 9 Geki Jigen Tag Blanc + Neptune VS Zombie Gundan (PSV) 2
Tales of Zestiria (PS4) 8 Mirror's Edge Catalyst (PS4) 2
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (PS4) 8 Disgaea 5 (PS4) 2
Rise of the Tomb Raider (PS4) 8 Transformers: Devastation (PS4) 2
Shenmue III (PS4) 7 Dragon Quest Heroes (PS4) 2
Assassin's Creed Syndicate (PS4) 6 Tokyo Xanadu (PSV) 1
Yoru no Nai Kuni (PSV) 5 Need For Speed (PS4) 1
Yoru no Nai Kuni (PS4) 5

To show you guys in a colorful pie graph of how the PS4 and how the PSV/PS3 look in comparison.

Nintendo definitely didn't have a shortcoming of games on either platform either. They managed to get 12 games per system. Most of which managed to make the top 10 overall. Admittedly, the 3DS wasn't nearly as strong pointwise as the Wii U. It still had a few titles that did really well overall.

Xenoblade Chronicles X (WiiU) 127 Fire Emblem: Fates (3DS) 50
Zelda (WiiU) 103 Super Pokémon MD (3ds) 15
Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem (WiiU) 52 Mario and Luigi Paper Jam (3DS) 11
Star Fox Zero (WiiU) 29 Ace Attorney 6 (3DS) 7
Yoshi's Wooly World (Wii U) 24 Rodea The Sky Soldier (3ds) 7
Pokken tournament (WiiU) 18 The Legend of Legacy (3DS) 6
Fast Racing Neo (WiiU) 8 Bravely Second (3DS) 5
Yooka Laylee (WiiU) 3 Etrian Odyssey II Untold (3ds) 4
UCraft (WiiU) 2 Youkai Watch (3ds) 4
Devil's Third (WiiU) 1 Stella Glow (3DS) 3
Mario Tennis Ultra Smash (Wii U) 1 Zero Escape 3 (3DS) 2
Guitar Hero Live (Wii U) 1 The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes (3DS) 1

While the Wii U does have a decent amount of titles, the top 2 made up for over 60% of the votes! Xenoblade with an astounding 34% and Zelda with an impressive 27.9%

Interestingly enough, Fire Emblem is involved in two seperate games and if you combine those totals, then it would have been the 3rd series to have over 100 points this month. While it had to settle for being 3rd place to Zelda and Xenoblade, it manages to top the 3DS chart easily. If it had just a couple more votes, it would have easily taken half of the 3DS points totaled. The real question is whether or not Fire Emblem would have heartily taken that big of a chunk of the 3DS points if the Pokemon, Mario or Zelda releases would have been more traditional versions of their series or not.

Microsoft and PC

Both of these systems had 1 title lead the way on them. For the Xbox One, it was Halo 5. For the PC, it was Fallout 4. Though Rollercoaster Tycoon was in the lead for the first half of the month for the PC.  They both managed to scrape by with 14 titles a piece, which is more titles than Nintendo per system but at the same time, the points are significantly less than the top SKUs for the WiiU, though other than Fire Emblem, they are around the same. All seemed to fare better than the Vita and PS3 though.

Fallout 4 (PC) 18 Halo 5 (XOne) 27
Roller Coaster Tycoon World (PC) 11 Fallout 4 (Xbox One) 9
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (PC)

Rise of the Tomb Raider (Xbox One) 6
South Park: The Fractured But Whole (PC) 5 Quantum Break (XBO) 6
The Binding of Isaac Rebirth: Afterbirth (PC) 5 Kingdom Hearts III (Xbox One) 5
Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void (PC) 4 Just Cause 3 (XBox One) 3
A Hat In time (PC) 4 Scalebound (XBO) 3
X-Com 2 (PC) 3 Gears of War 4 (XBO) 3
Mass Effect 4 (PC) 3 Crackdown 3 (XBO) 2
Overwatch (PC) 3 Assassin's Creed Syndicate (XBO) 2
Star Wars Battlefront (PC) 2 Final Fantasy XV (XBO) 2
Stellaris (PC) 1 Star Wars Battlefront (XBO) 1
No man's sky (PC) 1 Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 (XBO) 1
Rise of the Tomb Raider (PC) 1 Rainbow Six: Siege (XB1) 1

PC fans seem mostly dispersed. The majority of the titles that were voted for this time around were single votes by 1 or 2 people. Fallout 4 and Rollercoaster Tycoon were the exceptions.

As For the Xbox One, Halo definitely dominated the competition. Fallout 4 (which has been a force on every other system) manages to hold its ground but still is barely even comparable in the points Halo 5 recieved. Rise of the Tomb Raider also had a decent showing for Xbox One. Though Rise of the Tomb Raider is a timed exclusive for the Xbox One, it still managed to not muster up as many points as its PS4 counterpart.

Alright guys! It's finally done! :)

Good job
That wealth of PS titles is a good lesson that apparently goes eternally unlearned
If makes it hard for me to pick the bottom places (4 and 5) and end up doing it for silly reasons, for example I wouldn't be surprised if I will enjoy Trails of cold steel more than YoruYoru no nai kuni but because I like Gust a bit more than Falcom I just gotta swing it somewhere or I'd never decide.

I find it hilarious that Halo 5 has 31 points, but is almost assuredly going to outsell, well, everything on the Nintendo lists as well as (at least) Persona 5 and probably Ratchet & Clank.

Yeah. It's going to do well. This site has always leaned a little more towards Sony and Nintendo fanwise. I fear to see exactly what happens next month with Halo 5 releasing. I'm assuming Fallout 4 will take the helm unless more info on Gears releases. Then I could see that one jumping up a little.

XCX hype!

Glad to see some other supporters of SMTxFE on this site. You guys make me proud! :')

XCX has been at the top for quite a while, correct? I wonder if Zelda will hold the fort once it releases.
