League Of Legends is that big huh... I know that's what you have to be coming at me with, with the Lols. Otherwise.... I don't get the joke....

Nintendo barely have a presence at all in survival horror, outside of the brutally niche and poorly supported Fatal Frame. But I am buying Fatal Frame V. Still, let's not be ridiculous, here.

And then we're talking about a middling JRPG that failed to live up to Xenoblade (and I say that as someone who likes the game well enough and has the English version pre-ordered) and a very nice handheld series (Bravely; though we're really talking about consoles here) matching... Well, let's just think about some of the confirmed JRPGs hitting the PS4... Kingdom Hearts III, Final Fantasy XV, Final Fantasy VII Remake, World of Final Fantasy, Star Ocean 5, Nier 2, Persona 5, Disgaea 5, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, Tales of Zestiria, Tales of Berseria, Dragon Quest Heroes, the new Ys game... Okay, omg, I'll stop. xD We're talking about the PS2 2.0, here. There is no contest for anyone who isn't being delusional. And now we're getting ready for a pretty obvious Dragon Quest XI PS4 announcement. Be it major (KH, FF, etc.) or niche (Neptunia, Ys, etc.), it's on PS4 (and usually exclusively) unless Nintendo funded the project (SMTxFE and Xenoblade X).

Oh, and League of Legends is shit. :3

You don't own it, and you've never played it...... Yep, you sound legit.

Meh.

Best platforming :

Easily Nintendo

Best survival Horror:

Easily Nintendo

Best JRPG:

Easily Monolith Soft (which Bravely by default is Nintendo)... Get it?...

I fell out of my chair laughing at this. Nintendo only has platform and casual games to really call theirs. Every other genre has a home elsewhere. Horror survival games are mainly third party and nintendo doesn't have those. JRPGs are flocking back to playstation consoles.

Great examples. I'll be spending my time trying to come up with replies to all these great games you mentioned. :D

I'm a bit confused, since when was smash the biggest fighting game franchise? It isn't in the competitive scene or from an overall sales perspective, so how is it the biggest in any sense?

Actually Super Smash Bros are the second and third biggest Fighting Games at Evo this Year:

Note: This is with no actual backing or promotion from Nintendo at all. Otherwise it is a tad bit wierd for Smash to be mentioned on this thread.

There's plenty. Hmm instead of me listing them for you and you casually dismissing them. Why don't you broaden your horizons with a different console and see some of the games that are out there. You claiming that nintendo has the best horror surivival games speaks volumes of your inexperience of the other consoles' libraries.

Well, they've clearly already done that! But watching them invest more into the genre to further own it will be a lot of fun.

That said, with the way things are going, the PS4 will even be the home of first-person shooters. lol And they've already got RPGs, third-person action, basically the entire Japanese game industry, art house stuff, horror, racing, etc. under their belt.

While it is the fighting genre that is relevant to Capcom here, I think it's pretty clear that Sony's amibition is to make the PS4 the home of all video gaming, not just the home of particular genres. xD But the fact that they're committing extra resources to growth in certain genres is definitely interesting.

Dude, I just hope you're kidding and not serious about what you just said.

Thats how it always was before the PS3 era. This is nothing new. Sony was the home of Fighters and key fighters were exclusive to the Playstation until the PS3 era.

That's pretty easy. The PS4 D-Pad is far superior to the Xbox One D-Pad.

lol no it isn't. the d-pad on the xbox one is essentially now what Nintendo have just the cross witout the raised circle bit like the 360 controller.

The Xbox Elite controller has a better d-pad than the Xbox One controller, but the PS4 is a better d-pad for fighters than the xbox one. It dips and clicks too much on the controller. It also sucks for you if you have sticky buttons.

Exclusive PS4 Monster Hunter fighting game incoming.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Best survival horror is easily TLOU remasterd or Bloodborne  (it is horror just because you kill your enemies differently doesn't make it a different genre). That leaves Nintendo with best party game and best 2d and 3d platformer.

And I do not consider MK as a racing game as I don't count strikers as a footie great game though, but still a partygame. Nintendo's still having the best fighter with SSB.

MS has the best racing games with Forza and probably the best shooter when Halo comes out.

Sony the best horror survival and JRPG, the other genres as WRPG are third party as the Witcher 3 and nor available on Wii U, in therms of library the twinshave caught up.
