How faithful the HxH reboot is to the original? Do you guys recommend watching it? Is it still on? Too lazy to look for answers

I haven't seen the original and I am not a fan of stuff like Naruto, One Piece and Bleach, but I watched all 147 episodes of HxH in about a week. It was pretty much amazing. Its received universal acclaim and was voted the anime of the year over at Crunchyroll.

So yeah, I can easily recommend watching it. It absolutely blew my expectations out of the water.

The series ended because it caught up to the manga, but the ending arc actually brought the show to a bit of a resolution, even though the manga is ongoing.

Every Kill la Kill fight.

Fate Zero was awesome.  It was intelligent and intense.  One of my favorite anime of all time.  Fantastic on many levels.

Mind you, I don't think the original is perfect or anything. But it had an amazing soundtrack and the action scenes were not abundant but they were done right. I hope some of the old soundtrack made it to the reboot. I'll check it out, thanks! :)

If nothing else, you can start watching the reboot at the end of the Greed Island arc. The 2011 anime includes the Chimera Ant arc, which is probably one of my favorite manga/anime arcs ever. It'll really blow you away (assuming you haven't read the manga). Several of the fights listed in this thread are from that arc alone. XD

There were also two movies made alongside the 2011 anime, if you care enough. The 2nd one is pretty terrible, but I highly recommend the 1st. 

Bell vs Minotaur was the best I saw in a long time, together with a lot of fights from Unlimited Blade Works.
