Revelations 2 definitely interests me. I own Resident Evil Revelations, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6. I have enjoyed and beaten them all.
I know Resident Evil 6 has a lot of negativity surrounding it, however, I thought it was an excellent co-op game. I did hate the quick time event for one of the bosses though. That quick time event can go to hell haha.
I am indeed selective of the FPS genre, so as you said I probably will not enjoy Killzone, however, Wolfenstein might be worth a look.
Infamous: Second Son does look interesting to me, so I will likely pick that one up eventually.
If the announce Resident Evil 7 this year, I will be incredibly happy. That will be an announcement, in my opinion, a difficult one to top at E3.
Metal Gear Solid I am uncertain of. I have never played any of the games in the series besides a demo.

I'm a HUGE fan of Resident Evil. 6 was NOT a bad game but not the best. I would say it is the Fast & The Furious of the series. Honestly it was all about the main protagonist and how they interact with each other. From that perspective it was fantastic. Resident Evil 4 is easily the best in the series, so damn good. As hated as 5 was it was amazing. Killing Albert Wesker was a HUGE mistake as is iconic of a video game villain as Ganondorf, Bowser, Athras and so on. I have finally come to terms with that as the series finally has a new main villain that is far scarier and more fucked up than he could even dream of being. Ugh such an amazing villain, you can probably already tell I'm a HUGE fan of her. She isn't exactly new but.... we see her for the first time!
Revelations was great as well! The classic atmosphere returns, the 3DS version is by far the superior version of the game though. There isn't even a debate on this subject at all.
As for Revelations 2! It's one hell of a game. It does connect heavily with the original Resident Evil and parts of 5. It directed to the hardcore fans and it introduces who could very well be the end game villain. So it actually connects a lot of the series through this person who I won't reveal. The villain is the same one I mentioned above but damn, the connections here are real and so much to speculate. Hell the founder of Umbrella considered her to be his child.... The brightest of all of the people at Umbrella and the one who would rise to literally rule the world. Basically make everyone suffer in true fear and agony, easily one of the evilest villains I've ever seen out of any media. Knowing the backstory of the series really makes it clear how fucked up she is.
Hell Resident Evil 2 will heavily connect as that is where Leon saved Sherry Birkin when she was a little girl. No doubt this villain will want her after what happened to her and how she will age so slowly. I think Jake will be very important in this fight. Ahhh now I'm getting way to far ahead of myself, I don't want to spoil anything but everything I've said is speculation from other games in the series and how it connects. This game is amazing but you may want to delve deeper into the series first for the full effect of the story! :)
Resident Evil 7 will be HUGE! I think Revelations 2 really sets everything up for the true horrors that are about to be unleashed without anyone even being able to have a clue. This is going to be insane! After all the ending to Revelations 2 was a HUGE "Fuck You" from the villain, man you don't have a clue. Resident Evil 7 if done right will be the only real threat to The Phantom Pain.
Anyways back on track! ^.^
As far as Metal Gear Solid is concerned, this is a series you got to play. Probably one of the most phenomenal plots in gaming and MGS4 will make you cry like a bitch. It's a phenomenal series and you kind of need to play all the games in the series to understand what is going on. Phantom Pain will be a bit more accessible based on where it stands chronologically, but I think it will answer a few questions for things later in the series and give a new perspective on one of the MOST important characters in the lore who is probably the most prominent character in the series based on appearances. This series is extremely story heavy and probably holds the record for this as #1 in gaming. There are TONS of cutscenes and the final game actually has an hour and half cutscene at the very end of the game to wrap everything up. No stone is left unturned in this series and everything is explained. Even down to science at parts! :)
The chronological time line of the series is below if you are interested.
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (Start Here!)
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (This is skippable but read the plot synopsis online, it was NOT a good game imo and I am a HUGE fan of this series)
Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeros (An epilogue to Peace Walker and prologue to Phantom Pain, it MAY be included in the Phantom Pain and is a 2 hour demo)
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
Metal Gear
Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake (Both Metal Gear games are very old! Reading a plot synopsis when you get here is something many people do)
Metal Gear Solid 1 (Twin Snakes remake on the Game Cube is vastly superior to any of the other versions)
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (Considered the most confusing chapter of the saga)
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (Wraps everything up and is the LAST game you want to play, it will spoil EVERYTHING, no stone is left unturned)
This series is something you don't want to miss out on. Absolutely phenomenal but it does require an investment to understand the games. I think Phantom Pain will win game of the year.
