As for Revelations 2, I hope you've played enough of the series. If you have not then this game is not for you. If you have and you are a huge fan of the series then this is the game you NEED! It's one of the best enteries in the series for a while and the story is so freaking good! Wesker's back!!!! Mwwwwhahahahahahaha! ;)
PS. I didn't spoil shit!

Give Wolfenstein a spin, even if it's a rental or try to borrow it. It is a VERY good game and probably the best FPS of this generation to date. It feels more classic as well as being new and refreshing. Like skill tree's that you unlock and great stealth elements for a FPS. There are so many interesting gameplay elements in this game. Killzone Shadowfall is a much better game that people give it credit for. It still gets support and has a big player base even to this date. Though if you're not a huge FPS fan and very selective of that genre. Skip this game, it will NOT appeal to you at all. It does however have a phenomenal sense of exploration for a FPS title.

InFamous: Second Son is fun and looks beautiful but it does have its flaws. Definitely one of the best titles for it's time, but I would say it's not the first pick for the PS4. I would go with BloodBorne as the PS4's flagship exclusive at this time.

I also want to add one more game that will be out later this year (I know I only want to keep it to games currently released). Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain! This game is going to be amazing and I'm not normally the one to say a game won't fail before release, because it happens all the time. However there is NO WAY IN HELL that Phantom Pain will possibly be a crap game. Heck, I'm actually pretty certain that it will win Game of the Year hands down by a long shot! There's some pretty big competition this year and that's even taking in consideration of all the games that got delayed into 2016. Also there is a huge rumor that we will see a new Resident Evil at E3, hopefully we FINALLY see RE7 as it has been in development since 2012. There are rumors for a Code Veronica X remake though, it may very well be that.

Revelations 2 definitely interests me. I own Resident Evil Revelations, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6. I have enjoyed and beaten them all.

I know Resident Evil 6 has a lot of negativity surrounding it, however, I thought it was an excellent co-op game. I did hate the quick time event for one of the bosses though. That quick time event can go to hell haha.

I am indeed selective of the FPS genre, so as you said I probably will not enjoy Killzone, however, Wolfenstein might be worth a look.

Infamous: Second Son does look interesting to me, so I will likely pick that one up eventually.

If the announce Resident Evil 7 this year, I will be incredibly happy. That will be an announcement, in my opinion, a difficult one to top at E3.

Metal Gear Solid I am uncertain of. I have never played any of the games in the series besides a demo.

Around the Network

infamous second son and infamous first light are bundled together on PSN for about 40 bucks. they are fantastic games and wow just wow are they fun! would highly recommend

Dont Starve is also fantastic! such a great game. highly recommend it as well.

Bastion is one of my all time favorites and it released on PS4, awesome game

GTA5 and TLoU are also MUST buys if you havent played them yet.

Farcry 4 is an amazing game, i put over 50+ hours into it.

Killzone is a good game too, the single player is OK, the multiplayer is great.

The Order 1886 is a good game, its fun, but its short, its not the best game and it has its issues, but its pretty fun and one that i enjoyed.

I'm a HUGE fan of Resident Evil. 6 was NOT a bad game but not the best. I would say it is the Fast & The Furious of the series. Honestly it was all about the main protagonist and how they interact with each other. From that perspective it was fantastic. Resident Evil 4 is easily the best in the series, so damn good. As hated as 5 was it was amazing. Killing Albert Wesker was a HUGE mistake as is iconic of a video game villain as Ganondorf, Bowser, Athras and so on. I have finally come to terms with that as the series finally has a new main villain that is far scarier and more fucked up than he could even dream of being. Ugh such an amazing villain, you can probably already tell I'm a HUGE fan of her. She isn't exactly new but.... we see her for the first time!

Revelations was great as well! The classic atmosphere returns, the 3DS version is by far the superior version of the game though. There isn't even a debate on this subject at all.

As for Revelations 2! It's one hell of a game. It does connect heavily with the original Resident Evil and parts of 5. It directed to the hardcore fans and it introduces who could very well be the end game villain. So it actually connects a lot of the series through this person who I won't reveal. The villain is the same one I mentioned above but damn, the connections here are real and so much to speculate. Hell the founder of Umbrella considered her to be his child.... The brightest of all of the people at Umbrella and the one who would rise to literally rule the world. Basically make everyone suffer in true fear and agony, easily one of the evilest villains I've ever seen out of any media. Knowing the backstory of the series really makes it clear how fucked up she is.

Hell Resident Evil 2 will heavily connect as that is where Leon saved Sherry Birkin when she was a little girl. No doubt this villain will want her after what happened to her and how she will age so slowly. I think Jake will be very important in this fight. Ahhh now I'm getting way to far ahead of myself, I don't want to spoil anything but everything I've said is speculation from other games in the series and how it connects. This game is amazing but you may want to delve deeper into the series first for the full effect of the story! :)

Resident Evil 7 will be HUGE! I think Revelations 2 really sets everything up for the true horrors that are about to be unleashed without anyone even being able to have a clue. This is going to be insane! After all the ending to Revelations 2 was a HUGE "Fuck You" from the villain, man you don't have a clue. Resident Evil 7 if done right will be the only real threat to The Phantom Pain.

Anyways back on track! ^.^

As far as Metal Gear Solid is concerned, this is a series you got to play. Probably one of the most phenomenal plots in gaming and MGS4 will make you cry like a bitch. It's a phenomenal series and you kind of need to play all the games in the series to understand what is going on. Phantom Pain will be a bit more accessible based on where it stands chronologically, but I think it will answer a few questions for things later in the series and give a new perspective on one of the MOST important characters in the lore who is probably the most prominent character in the series based on appearances. This series is extremely story heavy and probably holds the record for this as #1 in gaming. There are TONS of cutscenes and the final game actually has an hour and half cutscene at the very end of the game to wrap everything up. No stone is left unturned in this series and everything is explained. Even down to science at parts! :)

The chronological time line of the series is below if you are interested.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater     (Start Here!)
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker     (This is skippable but read the plot synopsis online, it was NOT a good game imo and I am a HUGE fan of this series)
Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeros     (An epilogue to Peace Walker and prologue to Phantom Pain, it MAY be included in the Phantom Pain and is a 2 hour demo)
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
Metal Gear
Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake                              (Both Metal Gear games are very old! Reading a plot synopsis when you get here is something many people do)
Metal Gear Solid 1                                           (Twin Snakes remake on the Game Cube is vastly superior to any of the other versions)
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty              (Considered the most confusing chapter of the saga)
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots     (Wraps everything up and is the LAST game you want to play, it will spoil EVERYTHING, no stone is left unturned)

This series is something you don't want to miss out on. Absolutely phenomenal but it does require an investment to understand the games. I think Phantom Pain will win game of the year.

U like action/adventure games, so u should get and play The Last of Us Remastered.
I see u have 360 system, so maybe u already played Diablo 3, Borderlands 2 and FarCry 4. If not, then I recommend u to get:
Borderlands: The Handsome Collection
FarCry 4
Diablo III: Reaper of Souls

Okay I might have to look into Metal Gear Solid. Sounds a lot more involved than what I had originally perceived it to be.

I have the Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero remakes, I just have not got around to playing them yet.

I really enjoy the Resident Evil series and I definitely want to play more of the Resident Evil franchise. I would like to get a better understanding of all the Resident Evil lore.

Hell I even enjoyed the movies, even though they seem to be panned a lot on the internet. My friends and I think it is a blast to watch. It should not be taken seriously. I just like zombie movies in general so I find the zombie genre enjoyable to watch for the most part.

Ratchet and Clank Redux! Super fun (3D) platforming and shooting.

As with any new user getting a new platform I suggest you do your own research because popular opinions can be very misleading

Retrospectively for me Peace walker (Played only the PS3 version which is an incredible 60fps port) is one of the best MGS game I have played. the game mechanics in Peace walker are so good (you can build an entire base, recruit mercenaries, fulton (steal) stuff (including mercenaries) from any of your missions, improve you equipment that you can use in your next missions etc).

That worked so well in Peace walker than it's being fully used in The Phantom Pain which looks litterally like a Peace walker 2 in that aspect.

But yeah this is an incredible serie, except for MGS4 that I didn't like at all. Thankfully Ground Zeroes was completely different than MGS4 and was great, while it lasted. If each TPP missions are as good as Ground Zeroes's with Peace walker incredible mother base management stuff then this game will be the GOAT!

Are there other PS4 games that you recommend I should get?

My favourite genres are: Action/Adventure, RPGs and Platformers. I also like a good horror game here and there.

I do like shooting games - just not the military shooters.

Despite being a very much flawed experience starting somewhere at second half of the game if you are not absolutely disgusted with the franchise, get Alien: Isolation. It certainly feels different than yet another Japanese horror game, great immersion. As for the shooters, Destiny is a lot of fun, shooter mechanics is top-notch, the rest is forgettable, story is short and there's a lot of grinding. Still worth the investment imo. RPG department -- can't say anything, as DA: Inquisition is the only I have and I haven't played it a lot, the first impression was: who? what? where? why? who're these people? -- probably should have played first two to have an idea what's going on. But I plan to get Witcher 3, it certainly look promising.
