Forums - Sony Discussion - Why I think Playstation Now is wonderful

Hey guys. Quick post here. Just subscribed for Playstation Now for the price of free (for 1 week) and I'm here to tell you doubters that you should give it a shot.

The old prices were ridiculous but now that a subscription is available ($20 1 month or $44 3 months) I really think the service has a chance to take off.

Currently replaying Ratchet a crack in time, Batman Arkham City, and all 3 uncharted games while checking out for the first time games I missed last gen like Tokyo jungle, Ninja gaidan and El Shadai.

Since it's free for a week I hope everyone at least tries it. I honestly can't even tell games are streaming most of the time as they run perfectly. Its kind of weird actually.

REALLY hopeful for the future of this service. It's off to a great start but with so many more games to be added I'd love to see what it can become.

Thoughts?

Currently own:

I liked what I played during my free trial. I'll probably subscribe when during game droughts and when I have nothing to play.

Streaming and digital are no goes for me, i think its still cheaper in the long run buying a ps3 and every ps3 game used than PSnow. you can buy almost every ps3 game for 10 bucks or lower now.

I tried it during the free trial as well and I really enjoyed what I played. I still think 20 per month is still a bit too steep for me. I'll consider it when they add ps2/ps1 games.

Hmmm, never got to play A Crack In Time. :/

Ye with a subscription model this become rather atractive. If PS2 and PSX games get added down the line I might subscribe, even tough I played most of the great games on PSX and PS2 back in the day so Im not sure.

Are trophys avaliable if youre playing a PS3 game via PSNow ?

You can earn trophies from PS3 games from what I remember.  I was playing through God of War Ascension during the trial and unlocked quite a few of them.  As for saves, I think it is all stored in the cloud.

I'll check it out, but TBH the main reason I own a console besides exclusives is physical media. I don't like the concept of streaming services where you never own your games... I get that its like renting them from a Blockbuster or Redbox, but still... I really hope streaming games isn't the future.
