It is worth owning, but I was waiting on Zelda on buy one. Now not sure if go ahead with this holidays or wait for Zelda.

imo no, iv been severely let down and 300 is way to much for what it offer currently.

My advice is to wait until XCX is out, and that's only if you care about Mario Kart and Smash. That gives you, as far as killer apps go, MK8, Smash 4, and XCX. Then you can maybe count Bayo2 and Splatoon. Those are five games that are sure to justify your purchase if you were to never buy a Wii U game again. It's unfortunate that there aren't more single player AAA games for it yet, but that may change in the future.

I'm waiting for the next console.. to see if it has retrocompatibility.

I ended up playing more GC games on the wii than wii games.

Wii yes, GC no.

It also has the Virtual Console if you missed any games from the SNES days and on up. 

And Hell Yes it is worth it best console out right now in terms of fun and gameplay that is in HD quality. People have been listing games so will not do that because they are all on point but this is the perfect time to start getting back into NINTENDO in my opinion. Also has Netflix and Amazon play, the online is free and the gamepad isn't bad to hold. If you have children it is an A + console and will be happy you did it

Is it worth getting a Wii U: Yes

The bigger question is do you need to get one soon?

With the current Wii U sales I think you should wait until they have an amazing bundle or price drop. (There was one not long ago where if you buy the black Wii U bundled with NSMB U, you'd get free Smash Bros or MK8)

You've waited this long since the launch before getting one, im sure you can wait a bit longer when you see a great deal.

(Unless you're just loaded with cash and don't care about deals then yes get one now!)

 


I live in Romania. We don't really get bundles, so that's not really appropiate for me. But I will be looking at some pre-owned systems in the mean time, maybe I strike some gold somewhere.
