Forums - Sony Discussion - Last of Us sequel brainstorming on hold so ND can focus on Uncharted - chance of sequel 50/50

I'm sorry, but I can't think that there's only a 50/50 chance of a game that successful getting a sequel.

I'm sure there's another team at Naughty Dog, albeit small, that is in the early stages of another game. They just don't want to come out and say it right now.

The 50% chance is probably a flat out lie.

This reminds me of a conversation on another thread that ND still had two teams after the leaving of Amy Hennig and others.

I guess i had a point and they are back to beeing just one team.

The Last of Us Karting, it's so obvious! They haven't made a karting Uncharted game and they are well past due on one. Make it happen.

The Walking Dead kind of has the market cornered on intimate personal stories from the zombie and zombie-like apocalypse. I think it would be great if ND became a studio that created one off amazing titles and they jumped off the franchise bandwagon. Even Uncharted can be ditched after this one. Making a 4th main game in a franchise is unprecedented for Naughty Dog isn't it? It's kind of spin-off time for this.

But I would like to see TLOU 2 just so we can visit with Ellie to see how she turns out in adulthood. But even if TLOU2 does get made there's no guarantee Ellie (or Joel) will be in it.

A 'sequel' or 'prequel' would be really nice but only with other characters. They should take the world of TLOU and show it in different stages of the outbreak. So one game could take place pretty close to the beginning of the outbreak, with a lot of mass hysteria, everything being chaotic, many people dying while trying to escape, even though there is no place to run to.
With different characters there could be many more stories to tell and small references to the first game could be there, too. I would really like that kind of a 'sequel'.
If they think about continuing Joel and Ellie's story I would say that's pretty lame.

I thought that the second team was the one who made Uncharted 3 while the main team focused on The Last of Us since Uncharted 2 came out.

I'm now filled with determination.

Pretty sure second team did TLOU while the main team worked on Uncharted 3.

chances of 50/50 is bs lol

it makes money so it will 100% happen this gen

Sony is very leniant on Naughty Dog. They can make whatever they want, and won't be forced to make a TLOU sequel just because it will make money.

Besides, anything Naughty Dogs develops will make money.

Doesnt really matter. It makes money. It will get a sequel.

It will get a sequel just because of the money it can make... Though I'd certainly prefer ND working on something new.
