Forums - Sony Discussion - I think my PS4 just broke? New PS4 virus going around. PS4 users beware!

It's definitely got a manufacturer's warranty. Contact Sony.

This happened to me twice while playing samurai warriors. I just let the console for a day then it worked again lol

Lol! It's fucking virus people..

If a problem is happening with a system that's not supposed to be there.. it's a virus

YLOD on PS3 was a virus. RROD on 360 was a virus. "Disc read error" on PS2 was a virus.

If some shit that you dont want happening is happening, it's a virus. If it has to be "fixed", its a virus.

Well no piece of hardware is perfect.

There isn't anything to play on the PS4 that you can play on other things ATM, so it shouldn't be that big of a deal anyway. Lol

And this is why the PS2 is the best selling console of all times. I have 5 friends, FIVE!! who at least bought the console twice because it broke up. Playstation has always been a hardware that breaks a lot.

I thought something else after i read your post, just a faulty disc drive. I don't know what to say, it happened to me since year 1998(or older perhaps) with my old PC lol, i actually fixed it with my pin.

Speaking of fix, Gee, i dunno, warrenty is only one can solve your problem. Sorry. :(

No its a bug.  Not a virus.  They are two fundamentally differnt things.  A bug is a issue with a firmware which is the fault of Sony.  A virus is something created by someone else who is targeting your system.  Could also be a hardware defect.  But a virus is something that someone creates with the purpose of doing your system harm.

They're called bugs by the way.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

I read people having this same problem in neogaf, and it was a hardware problem, not a virus, something about the built of the ps4, like the hardware part that controls the ejecting of discs is very close to the bottom of the console, and the pressure of the floor can activate it, something like that.
The Harker guy who posts npd leaks in Neogaf had this same problem, started a thread about it, and people told him how to solve it.

Here I found the thread

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?p=145818340

the solutions

": at least from what I could tell, the little rubber foot under the ps4 that for some reason rests right under the eject button was in fact "riding up" on the eject button, like was mentioned above. I peeled it back. And then my ps4 is now resting on two dvd cases like in th video posted above, to prevent that little rubber nub from brushing against the eject button again."

What a silly, stupid design oversight. Though, I hope this does fix it for good so I don't have to send it back yet again.... I'll keep Ya posts but big thank you!

"I had the same issues I fix it buy propping up the console using rubber and cutting them into four piece on each corner. The problem with the ps4 ejection button is it is connected to the rubber feet and certain table's trigger it. "
