A consultant, iirc.  Apparently, publishers and marketers now think devs need a specialist to tell them how women feel and how female protagonists should act.  And since Aniita is the only woman arrogant enough to presume to have such omniscience in the industry it seems, she was brought on.

Oh, and as for her "blindly loyal followers,"  she has very few.  Check her YouTube channel:  her vids get lots of views but she has very few actual followers; her subscriptions are not that high at all relative to YouTube and especially relative to other game related channels.  She has a grand total of 180k.  If she is mostly left alone, she will fade into obscurity.  EA did this for political points.  If it doesn't do anything for them, no one will follow suit.

Why try to get her kicked off? Surely having her on the dev team is a good thing. Don't you want her to put her money where her mouth is?

Either it will prove that great and compelling games can be made with zero content that can be alleged to be sexist. Or it will prove that she is shit at actually working on game content because her ideas and demands are simply unmarketable. Either way the industry gets to move on.

I support Anita Sarkeesian being on the dev team. Clearly she won;t be writing or directing or designing. She's obviously a "gender content" consultant. So in the end the elements of a game that are supposedly meant to be most important (gameplay) should not at all be influenced or affected by her. So why are people actually concerned? Is it just because they hate her? Yeah, I think it is.

No, you can't stop her and she will use the reaction of gamers to her advance, that's her stategy.

She'll probably do nothing that changes the game. There's nothing incompatible with feminism in Mirror's Edge 1. EA may want to use her as a marketing figure because she's popular, but that's a stupid idea in my opinion.

What the hell would they need her for, anyway? Especially if she's just going to suggest simplifying the controls (cause I guess women can't handle "complicated" controls like men can?) and/or push some feminist viewpoint onto the game.

It's not about the fact she is a woman. Read the description.

It's about 1) She isnt a game dev, or has never worked professionally in the industry and 2) She is purely being hired on her agenda of female in/equality.

There are real consultants who work hard for a living, and deserve it way more, I like ME, I dont want it to be affected.
