wow, a bit harsh mate. Either sub or not. Where is your youtube channel?

I don't think the comment is harsh.  It's realistic.  There's really no variety of games on his channel and no guarantee that you'll actually get one of 100 PS4s.  Now the owner of the channel may have 100 PS4s to give away, but the money you'd make from 1000 subscribers much less 100 is insignficant.  So you really think someone is going to throw $4000 away in hopes that they'll get big on Youtube because that's clear what they want.  They want an easy way to make money by listing a bunch of popular Youtube videos, which is the reason why, without videos to back it up, the Youtube channel states that there are games like Final Fantasy, Assassin's Creed, GTA5, etc, when all there is right now is CoD and BF4.

While not directed towards me, I do actually have a Youtube channel with a variety of games.  https://www.youtube.com/user/kupomogli although I'm not currently attempting to make a profit off it.  Almost everything on my channel is niche most of which won't reach 10k.  I post the videos because they're games I'm interested in, not to make a profit.

I think you missread everything so far. I posted that we are giving away a PS4 when we reach 100 subs. Not we are giving away 100 PS4's, thats silly. And the channel is 1 week old. We have a lot of games incoming different games will be posted later today, mainly Mirrors Edge and Far Cry 3 (to prepare for FC4).

Everyone on our team has an actual job and we are making the channel for fun. We love playing games and we want people to have even more videos to watch while they are busy and cant play. We want people to sub so we can hear what they like and what they dont. That way we can provide better content.

We are also looking for people to join our gaming clan, which plays all types of games.

So, dont sub, I dont care. We only want people who come to watch because we have games, not people who come just to be salty.

Can you at least show the PS4?

Im at my main job right now, but I will add a pic when I get home later tonight.

A picture with an on-paper note as Tachikoma mentioned would be ideal to put at least some of the scepticism people may have at ease.

One word of advice though. Or more a personal observation. I noticed you keep calling the content "great" in this topic, and even in a video you start off with "I am here bringing you another great video".

Whether the viewer finds it great or not is a matter of subjective taste. Proclaiming it to be great youself kinda comes off as pretentious.
Now I don't know if you've studied other successful Youtube channels such as Angry Joe Show, The Rad Brad, or perhaps Maximillian Dood is a better example since he makes a lot of videos with the purpose of helping players learn the games more. But I've never seen them proclaim that their videos are great in any of their videos. They leave that up to the viewer to decide in the end.

Thanks for the advice, but the channel is for fun and we just want everyone watching to have fun. We think they are great and we think more great videos will come soon. If others dont agree than we accept their negative comments or feedback to better our channel. And its our opinion anyways people are bound to disagree with our videos even if we didnt use the word great.

I watch game reviews on a lot of sites, like IGN and others. They give their scores which are their opinions, and I either disagree and stop watching or agree and keep watching. I may disagree with their 9/10 review score, just as people may disagree with our "great" videos... but some will agree.

Anyways just doing this to share videos, not for a living.

Right, but when IGN review a game and give it a great review, they are calling someone else's work great, not their own.
That's what I was trying to point out. Giving yourself props for your own work.

Even if you just want people to view and enjoy the videos, there are definitely people who wouldn't even give the rest of the video a chance if they feel the presentation is unprofessional, pretentious or annoying. Not when there's so much else out there to chose from. Not saying that you necessarily are though. But presentation may be just as important as the content itself. Word of mouth gets around, which gives you the opportunity to reach out to more viewers, and so on.

Either way it is our opinion and we are just excited about our videos. I know what you mean, but I see plenty of sites and channels compliment their own work. We are only excited so we say what we are thinking. Either way we cant please everyone and we are not exactly trying to. We will keep what you are saying in mind though. Any feedback is good feedback!

Hmm, well in that case, could you give me one example of a successful Youtube channel that starts off their videos by complimenting their own work in this manner then? I can't recall seeing that.

And of course, you may be saying it simply because you're excited. But it may not come across that way to everyone.
And you can't please everyone either of course, as some people will no doubt not like some of your videos whether you proclaim them to be great or not.
So what's the difference? Well, rather than the viwer simply not enjoying a single video, this can also creates a sense of disagreeing with your opinion and taste as well. Which may very well affect their decision to watch any more of your videos. "If you think that video was great, then I doubt there's anything here of interest for me".
I'm sure The Rad Brad doesn't think that every single video he's uploaded is great. But he does it anyway. And he doesn't tell us what he feels of his own work. Just what he thinks of the actual game.

If you really insist on expressing how amazing your content is before the viewer has watched it, then I would probably go with a slightly more ambigous term, like awesome.

Anyway, just trying to clarify my point better, and I think I've done that now.
This is just my feedback, and what you chose to do is up to you.

First... awesome is better than great, so using that would be worse according to what you are saying. Second, we are not in it for the money, we are in it to make friends. All my friends already like any videos we have put up and think they are great. If new subs dont think they are great then why even stay and watch.

Its just video games with friends and sharing experiences... to me, that is great. So I think you miss the point. If we wanted to be like Ali-A or PewDiePie, we would go about it differently.

Our channel is just like we want it so far, thanks though.

Do you get a better chance of winning if you comment and like the videos?

Consoles owned: Wii U wii gamecube DS DS lite DSi 3DS Xbox 360 Gameboy Gameboy color Gameboy advance Gameboy Advance sp Gameboy micro and PC.

I subscribed to give your channel a chance. Good luck. I don't know what you plan to upload in the near future, but I would suggest putting up something other than COD and BF4 before the week is out.

If that's the case a d the channel is just "for fun"  why the desperation to reach monotinization requirements?  Why be concerned with subs at all,  if you're only doing it to make friends,  attracting subscribers with a prize seems a very backwards approach,  they are only subscribing becayse they want the prize,  NOT because they like your videos.

Also,  still waiting on the prize proof video.

Just subscribed.......will start watching your videos. So you are just taking the list of your subscribers, and selecting one for the giveaway?

Exactly. So basically we are almost half way to our goal already... once we hit 100 subs and we see that some people have watched the videos then we will pick our winner. We dont want people just to sub and not watch anything because the content is good and we even have other games we ar putting up later today. Some videos will have commentary and some wont.

How many videos need to be watched by the 100subscribers and if you are going to add another stipulation such as views are you going to limit those with a chance of winning the PS4 to the first 100?

What region is the console coming from btw? your account doesn't have a region selected to it but since you said you'll send the system to Ireland I'd hope it's a 220v region that it's coming from?

Also you suggest that you're not making this channel to earn money but you hope to make friends from it, should you really have to dangle €400 around your neck for people to want to be friends with you, whole thing sounds just unbelievable to me.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

What? No but just chill out a bit

Is it really so wrong to be skeptical and ask for proof of an actual prize?

In this forum, yes. Not being nice to everyone regardless of what they're saying is a cardinal sin here and will get you banned.

Better give up before someone successfully reports you to the authorities.

I happen to agree with Tachikoma's view on this whole situation, but was this post needed? You tend to know damn well what you're doing when you post. For the most part your bans have been well-earned (maybe when you were new, it was different).

Edit: My point was not to make this a referendum on moderation, as those too are against the rules. I'm letting you slide here but watch yourself. You're not a bad poster in the main.
