Forums - Sony Discussion - PS4 pulsating orange light and won't turn on.

This seems to be happening all the time now. When I turn off my PS4 everything seems to be fine, but after a while the light begins to pulsate.

When this occurs the PS4 refuses to turn on at all, whether I try the power button or the controller. It is completely unresponsive. Only way to turn on the PS4 is to unplug it and then plug it back in, but this causes it to need to a diagnosis first and it's annoying.

Is my PS4 really beginning to crap out already?

Same for me. It happens since the update apparently. Really annoying.

If you're interested in Nintendo content and understand german, maybe you want to take a look at my youtube channel! :)

Should be resolved with 2.01. Have you updated the FW?

Helped me at least, but it wasn't occuring all the time for me before anyway.

If it keeps happening, just don't use rest mode for now, until the next update, turn off the PS4 completely.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Glad to know it isn't just me.

Happened when mine entered rest mode. Had to pull the plug and reboot. Should be fixed now with the latest update.

I think it's the fault in 2.01 update.
Since then, I turn on my PS4 using a controller, but then it freezes (or loses connection to the controller), I must then press the button on the console to put it into rest mode, connect my controller via USB cable, and wake it up.
It then works and I can disconnect the controller.

So now I just save the hassle and plug in my controller before booting, that way I have no problems.

As I said before (more as a joke then), they fix one thing but break two more in the process...

after 2.01 update my its fix... try

ok thanks for the post i got mine like 3 weeks ago and it happened twice 2days ago but i havent try to update yet

FW 2.0 bug, should already be fixed.

Just in case though, in power settings change USB power to always.
