Really? I own every Nintendo console. I haven't bought any Mario game on my Wii. And really had no problem ignoring Galaxy, for example. I don't hate Mario, but at the same time. I don't have a drive to buy every game the characters in.

I don't hate it too, i am not a fan from the beging and it sore my eyes him poping out every other day since like 1998, imagine the suffering i am in right now. Seriously, did you like those rats (or what ever that was) in mario and luigi costumes in the nintendo direct? can you go on normal usage of your wii U for more than a day without seeing marios face somewhere? maybe i am wrong, but the message nintendo is sending, is, come here if you like mario, he is everywhere, if you dont like him you're screwed

Gamecube was released in September of 2001(Japan) and the Wii was released in December 2006. Much closer to a 5 year cycle than a 6 year cycle... The US cycle was pretty much bang-on 5 years minus one day whilst the European cycle was much shorter(Gamecube released in May of 2002 whilst the Wii was out December 2006).

Shows how well I don't follow Mario. Rats? No idea what you're talking about. I almost never watch Directs. I wait for standard news outlits on info. So I'm never subjected to Mario spam in the first place lol. And Gamepad news popups etc. I don't get. Since I have notifcations off by default. And my gamepad has a power switch. So it never goes on unless I want it to. I'm basically oblivous to any form of Nintendo advertisement. Unless I actually go to it.

I do not know. I love Nintendo and I like the WiiU very much (for Nintendo games only obviously...).
But I would not mind Nintendo coming out with a new console, just to shut up all of these haters!

Yeah I was thinking about the exact same quote since I thought they said the same thing a year or a few months before they announced the Wii U. Although I don't expect a new console for a few years.
