Kid Icarus: Uprising - Didn't know anything about it, I only saw a couple articles here and there and I wasn't really interested in it especially because at that time, I've never played the original Kid Icarus. I only bought KI:U because the game I wanted wasn't in stock and I saw it was new and I just wanted to play a new game, sort of an impulse buy. Glad I bought it though, I found the characters to be the most charming and interactive and the story was great as well. An unexpected enjoyable experience

Dead Space. Was not expecting much from an EA game. But I absolutely loved it when I finally had the chance to play it last month.

Yakuza 3. I didn't have any prior experience with the series, so when i downloaded the demo i wasn't really sure what to expect (though i could tell it wasn't the type of game i'd traditionally play). I was blown away by how satisfying the combat was. I ordered it on Amazon immediately after finishing the demo, and found the whole game to be just as entertaining ^^

I'd have to say Advanced Warfare right now.

I trust no one, not even myself.

Sword Art Online : Hollow Fragment. I play a lot of AA J-RPGS, which all happens to have very defined flaws and strengths.

So whan i bought it i tought it would be a flawed but nice anyway game. It ended up being the most complete J-RPG played in years ! Seriously, even though the story mode is not that long, the quantity of side quest, items, skills that needs to be obtained in obscure ways, etc

It may also be the first time i bought a game at full price without reading any reviews.

The rpgs of the SNES/Megadrive era took me by surprise, because over here in Europe they weren't really advertised at all and since the internet didn't exist they were sold based on the box story description only really.

-Soleil
-Secret of Evermore
-Secret of Mana
-Illusions of Time [gaia if you're in the states]

Soleil was one I didn't even know was an RPG at the time of buying it, was just a bargain bin £10 purchase that turned out to be amazing.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Xenoblade Chronicles:
i recommended it to my brother a few years ago because i heard how good it is. Didn't play it myself until the beginning of this year and it's now my favorite game.

Also Bayonetta and Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance

Playing: F1 2016 (PC), Uncharted: The Lost Legacy (PS4)
Watching: Hajime no Ippo, Attack on Titan (4th time)
