Forums - Gaming Discussion - New Destiny Game to be released every 2 years.

Should Activision be burned at stake for this?

YES! KILL THEM WITH FIRE! 82 71.30%

No, don't! If you do tha... 33 28.70%

Better than yearly installments at least, especially given how they are trying to make it out as some sort of progressive mmofps. Yearly installs for a game like destiny could wear the audience down quick.

Hopefully they don't turn Destiny into Call of Duty.

I will have no problem with this if we can transfer characters. Actually would welcome it. But if you have to start over, I will have an issue...

Enjoying Destiny as much as I am, I would welcome a steady stream of DLC (quarterly) and New Sequels (Bi-Yearly)

So long as the new content is meaningful and makes the core game better/fresher

if this is true they need more development time, two years is not enough to make another full retail destiny title. bungie had at least 3 years for halo, and the first destiny was in development since 2009 at least.

No way, they've got 500 employees at Bungie and the engine and foundation is done with the first game.  A sequel will just be new worlds, story, weapons, etc.  The hard part is done.

I really don't think it matters how long it takes the game to be released as long as it's good.

There are plenty of games that have two year development cycles and turned out good. Games that have had yearly development cycles even.

A series like Musou that's has no less than five releases a year though. Yeah. Those games are crap. Doesn't mean everything is going to be.

Agreed I have no issue with it. My only thing is they need to allow us to transfer our characters over. Don't make people start all over that would just be stupid.

I honestly don't mind. One Game, 4 expansions per game, then a sequel two years after. As long as there's good content, I'll buy. I friggen love this game and I feel it's got so much potential.

My big question is, would a Destiny 2 somehow carry over the character and continue or would it just be starting from square one.

They've said they are shooting for a new DLC every 2-3 months. So you could say 6-8 DLC packs or 3-4 expansion passes per game.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

But there is a comet edition coming between two games with all the DLCs, so the 2-3 months may be just for the first year than no more DLC till new game.
