We will get games that are "retro" and look like PS1 games and then it will stay that way so long people will forget that good graphics exist and then devs/publishers will fool the mainstream drones in thinking that "look PS2 graphics what an innovation!" And then it will be PS3 PS4 PS5 graphics all over again because most people are dumb and wont notice.

Entertaining and innovative gameplay with depth. Sandbox games with endless interactions. And skintight outfits for the characters.

For now I think that game machanics and physics could be a selling point in the future. Notable examples of this include Titanfall which for me the selling point was not the graphics of the game or that it was only online, the main selling point was how you could play the game ( Jumping on walls and so on ).

Sound, scale and map/level size combined with good design.

Look at Nintendo. Apparently, they believe that we'll reach the saturation point in terms of graphics this gen.
