Currently, I'm very much enjoying playing Wind Waker HD on hero mode.

ocarina of time, wind waker and skyward sword are my zelda triforce

Skyward Sword. Imo, the most charming characters/world, best dongeons in the series, among the best puzzles. And best story in the series. And I actualy enjoyed the combat.

I don't see why everyone liked WW so much. It's a zelda game so by default I thought it was a really good game, but it barely had any dongeons and the few it had was'nt particulary solid. Sailing stops being fun halfway thru the game and unfortunatly you still have a long way to go... Also had a boring fighting mechanic only (but barely) better than the N64 game's fighting. BUT it had my favorite ending in the series.

I am a 2D top down Zelda fan first (I do like the 3D ones too)

1. Link to the Past
2. The Minish Cap
3. Link Between Worlds

are those the only games you've played?

No i've played Link's Awakening, Link to the Past, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, Minish Cap, Majoras Mask. The only ones I really haven't played much is A link between world and Skyward Sword.

12. The Legend of Zelda / The Minish Cap
11. Phantom Hourglass
10. Majora's Mask

5. Ocarina of Time / Twilight Princess / Spirit Tracks
4. A Link Between Worlds
3. The Wind Waker
2. A Link to the Past
1. Skyward Sword

I have played every game in the franchise, but I haven't beaten the other 3 and as such I don't think I should judge them yet. If were to put them into the list, though, I'd probably have The Adventure of Link at #15, Four Swords Adventures at #16 and Four Swords at #17.

it's a bit boring and predictable of me, but i'd have to go with ocarina of time. mostly because of nostalgic reasons, it was the first zelda i owned and played completely on my own and the experience was just breath-taking! i thought the story was incredible and i've somewhat subconsciously compared each subsequent zelda to it.

other than OOT i'd say i hold a special place in my heart for both majora's mask and a link to the past (once i finally got around to playing it some 10ish years ago). they're both amazing!

wind waker felt a bit rushed in places, and i still find toon links appearance too.. stewie. but the sidequests and NPCs are great!
my expectations for twilight princess were insanely high, way too high. so ended up a bit disappointed.
had zero expectations on skyward sword and ended up loving it! haven't finished it yet, but it's definitely my favorite since majora's mask.
(haven't played any handheld ones though!)

Pretty much this, but for me it's tied between Links Awakening and Minish Cap. LBW is pretty close.
