Forums - Gaming Discussion - Are Nintendo Fans Going Extinct?

Nintendo fans aren't as aggressive as other fan bases. Nintendo gamers tend to have multiple consoles as well.

"I think Nintendo fans are finding game substitutes and finding more value in the Xbox One/PS4 what do you think??!"

I am a Nintendo fan and I know many Nintendo fans. There has been a movement away for Nintendo platforms to the PC. Jumping from one corporate basket case to another seems like a less than ideal plan. The PC gaming is far more attractive a Nintendo fan than any non-Nintendo home console will ever be.

Just out of curiosity... if ps4 had lower sales than x1, would you pick on them too or is Nintendo platform just your most hated platform?

OP pointing about the hardcore people losing faith in Nintendo Home consoles not just Wii U. Nintendo have failed Home consoles before and now Wii U so its valid. But for PS there is no failed Home console.

GAMING is not about spending hours to pass/waste our time just for fun,

its a Feeling/Experience about a VIRTUAL WORLD we can never be in real, and realizing some of our dreams (also creating new ones).

So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.

PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.

Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.

Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.

Judging by this image, I think the Wii U increased the fan size from Wii.

They seem to flow smoothly too.

I'm much more concerned for Sony fans. From 150 million PS2 to 80 million PS3.

I'm scared they are going extinct too. Obama must address the nation.

oh.. so uh, what is it exactly PC has that makes it "far more attractive" to a Nintendo fan than, let's say, Playstation?  Every Nintendo fan I met in real life, thinks of playstation consoles as "BY FAR" the closest gaming systems to Nintendo's.

PC gaming is in fact radically different from Nintendo's. Playstaiton on the other hand pretty much inherited the RPG vein from the SNES. The original Playstation was arguably more of a successor to the SNES than Nintendo's own N64 when it came down to third party games.

Playsation will always be a lot closer to Nintendo than PC. The reason being they're both Japanese systems and Japan doesn't give a shit about PC.

The PS3 and PS4 tried to match the Xbox as PC-lites. Almost every game that comes on the PS3/PS4 and Xbox 360/One also releases on PC. WIth better deals, free internet, and cheaper games, the cost of a gaming PC pays off for a better more customizable experience than the twins. The PC is the furthest experience from the WIi U, and that is why it is interesting. It's not about which experience is most similar, but which experience complements the WIi/Wii U the best, and that is PC.
