Not everything, that is not written by you, is a joke post.

They should have just went for power from the start. Lightning does not strike twice....usually, and they should know this. Casual features worked once, they should have left it at that. 3DS would be a lot healthier. No need for blue ocean explanations or any other fancy jargon.

I said in 2008 that it was going to be very hard to replicate the wii's success. It was one of my main arguments with Malstrom's "strategy". His mentor himself even says disruption can not be sustained. Nintendo had to enter the red ocean this time, and they missed it.

I said back then that Nintendo's next system could be the best system of all time if they go back to their roots and make this a gamer's system. Instead, they decided to add a peripheral that nobody cared for. WiiU could have been a gigantic success had they just played the game correctly. Poor leadership indeed.

Shown strong support when the specs are up to date?

People just don't seem to remember the gamecube era the way i seem to remember the gamecube era.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Sony does have 3 of top 4 selling consoles of all time and the top 2. I think they know what they're doing. It's been a downward spiral for Nintendo until wii and now it's right back to a struggling console. They need to change something

I knew this was a joke post based off the title. I have better detective skills than anyone in here.

Also, Anfebious, stop being such a cruel man.

It must be very confusing for Nintendo management. They release powerful consoles for their time; N64 and Gamecube and neither sell that well but then they re-release their old console the Gamecube with a new controller and few upgrades and charge a lot more for it and its a huge success.

The Nintendo brand image now is probably damaged and weakened. While commercially successful for Nintendo the wii did little good for third party developers and publishers. I think Nintendo has a deserved reputation with consumers for weak hardware now and I think for software companies the Nintendo brand probably means even less with regard home consoles.

I remember loving the Gamecube and still do.  Of course back then I had no idea how poorly it sold despite having so many games I loved.  I learned when the Wii did nothing for me and sold like gangbusters Nintendo should ask me what to do...and do the exact opposite.

I agree that Nintendo needs to change some things. Not like Sony or Microsoft exactly listen to fans for everything either

XBOX ONE/Wii U/3DS/PC

RIP Iwata 12/6/1959-7/11/2015

Thanks for all the great memories!

Apples and oranges. The Gamecube era had one console that was so dominant it became pointless to develop for multiple platforms. Not really the case anymore.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

I thought this was serious until I got to the last paragraph.

I absolutely do not agree with your 3rd point, high quality software is the only thing that makes Nintendo special nowadays.

Todays Software needs more polish instead of less and quality is much more important than meeting release dates. However with better planning and professional project management methods, it is possible to provide quality in time. Without this special polish or magic, I would see absolutely no reason to buy or even play a Nintendo game at all. The very high quality standards are what makes Mario and Zelda games worth playing.

However, the Wii-U can only be saved by dropping the tablet, cutting the price, heavily investing in 3rd party support and focusing much more on the many grown up Nintendo fans that moved to Playstation or Xbox. If it is not already too late because these things should have been done long ago.
