I might pick up a 3DS with Smash this summer, and I'll be buying Smash U whenever I buy a Wii U - probably not till 2015.

You won't need to buy the addon stick. The only use for a second stick in SSB is for Smash attacks, which are much easier to use with a single stick anyway - unless you're some sort of hard core spammer... Smash is pretty hard on your controllers sticks, though, so I'm curious to see how the 3DS nub holds up.

If the Wii U version came out first it would have only been that version.

Since the 3DS one is coming out months before the Wii U version then I will have to get both.

We will know the final roster of the Wii U version the day the 3DS version comes out though. :/

Wii U for sure, perhaps 3DS depending on how busy the summer is/how good the online is.

Thanks - that makes a bit difference-  I don t intend to buy the add on joy stick so I may buy the 3 ds version or just wait to see which version seems better 

Both of course. I'm a huge Smash fan. I'll probably get like, 3-4 copies of the 3DS version and 1-2 copies of the Wii U one. Really sour that the Wii U version is coming later, not only because it'll almost definitely be better/more enjoyable than the 3DS version, but also because I wanted people to feel forced to buy a Wii U to get SSB (and therefore Wii U sales would increase... lol yes I'm a Nintendo fanboy, or at least I hope for the best for them =P).

Both because that's obviously what Nintendo wants me to do.
