Nintendo's strategy didn't work. I was going to get the Wii U when Smash Bros came out and get Smash on the Wii U day one, but because of this I'm getting the 3DS version and will wait even longer to get a Wii U. They lost money since I'm waiting for a Wii U price drop and the Wii U version only when it goes on sale for around $20.

If history is anything to go by have to wait  along time for Smash Bros. to be $20 or less.

I always figured I'd buy both, still feel that way as of now.

Lot of people getting both O_O wii u version for me.

Both.  Hopefully they'll announce a specific mode or two more for each.

The superior 3ds master race version.

I was going to buy just the Wii U version but with the early 3DS release I'm going to have to buy both.

Normally I see Nintendo games go down slowly overtime, but after 4-5 years-ish they go back up in price

Iwata: (Laughs)

Both. I can't wait all the way until the winter to get my Smash fix. I don't get how someone can own both systems and not buy both, honestly. They are barely even the same game. Much more akin to Mario Kart 7 vs. Mario Kart 8.

Both, but SSBU is priority.

Judging by the poll, I'd say it's pretty safe to say that Nintendo's releasing strategy (not only releasing the 3DS version first, but releasing it at all) is paying off greatly.

I'll be getting both.
