The GPU in BF4, Ghosts, Tomb Raider etc isnt down to GPU. The reason is a the developers have told you. The SDK being behind and specifically the ESRAM size. This month We have new SDK that allows developers to cleverly tile the information, COMFORTABLY allowing the developers to do 1080p native. Now in the future as devs use more effects, PS4 will probably have more effects. But it wont be any more noticeable than the difference between PS2 and Xbox games.
The ESRAM is small, but fast. And the new Tiling technique will allow it to have much more relevant data than before. My guess is it was meant for launch games but thats what the developers say MS were behind.
The devs never said any such thing, also you cannot expect devs to come out and say, hey we are selling our game on X1 but the gpu is weak..
Every game comes down to the GPU the x1 gpu will struggle even more to push 1080p which IS very GPU dependant., It is obviosu you know little about the heardware. This will get worse as next gen engines get more demanding.

Rubin also told Edge that it would be wrong to suggest Ghosts is confirmation that Xbox One is a weaker console than PS4.
"It's a much more complex answer - there's so much to it, it's a balancing act when you get into optimisation - we need more time with it all, basically," he said. "It could be years from now until we get to the point where we feel like we've maxed out what we can do on both platforms.
"We might get more resources back at one point or better ESRAM utilisation. And that could make things change dramatically for the Xbox One, for instance. It's a long complicated road that will take years to develop, and I think at the end we'll have games looking very similar, usually, on both systems."

"On the PS4 it's very good to have the fast memory. Everyone is really happy about that," Torok said.

"32MB of ESRAM was unfortunately the most they could squeeze on to the APU’s die, without starting to compromise the amount of GCN cores or CPU powerformance on the Xbox One to the point were having the extra memory would have been a waste of time. Is there anything games developers can do to help get around these issues, well unfortunately it’s going to require the developers to get used to working around the limitations. One problem developers have spoken about is having to manually flush the ESRAM. Microsoft supply the Xbox One with its own memory compressed render targets. These are very similar to what has already been working for the Xbox 360. They argue that by using these render targets, in conjunction with ESRAM and DDR3 developers can work around the ESRAM. The problem is that with today’s multi platform environments, especially with the rather commanding lead that PC’s and the Playstation 4 already have in terms of ease of development, how easy will this be to implement. It’s far easier to just say “well, let’s aim for 720P for the X1″.
As it turns out MS have updated the SDK and taken care of it for the developers.
ESRAM was always the issue. Not the GPU as to why we have not seen same Res as PS4 so far. Like I said PS4 will likely be a little better. But even before MS changed the SDK to be better developers like The Witcher 3 guys ( awesome graphics blokes ) even say theres not much of a power difference.
