What is the future of sony? if they keep taking losses like this will they bankrupt? buy out by apple or microsoft?

i think they should downsize and focus on the areas they do profit and cut everything else to survive.

what do you guys think?

Obviously there going to be downsized.
There currently in junk status....again. Expect them to be a former shell of themselves in 2-3 years.
Tv division will be treated more like side business and not main.
Cameras aren't doing amazing because canon is destroying them with price and quality.
PC division has been killed by Sony.
Movies has made Sony lose a lot and spiderman 2 is going to save them. They release multiple movies not just one a year.
Games I expect them to have a loss for 2 years because Sony themselves said they will not break even until 2 years because game development cost.

Frankly, I don't know how Sony keeps losing money. Don't they know they could just ask all their PlayStation fanboys to donate money to help get them out of the hole? I mean come on....their cult following puts even Star Citizen to shame.

They have a donation program for PS fans to contribute. It is called PS Plus ;)

Not that I am any better, been donating to MS for a while now lol.

I really don't know where a company that is supposed to be "broke and have no money" gets over a billion dollars to lose from.

Aren't facts like this about Sony not usually ignored?

I wonder if Sony cuts enough money losing divisions it would be small enough (and stable enough) to warrant a buyout in the next decade or so?

I don't know how it really goes but wouldn't it be possible that they get funded by the Japanese governement. All the Japanese industries are really fighting for survival and I don't think they will let Sony go down, especially because of that abnormal R&D division.

I don't see a bright future for Sony... They continue taking billion losses for years and selling their buildings / divisions... Not good.
