Forums - Sony Discussion - Lines At Best Buy for PS4 Today (In Stock in Stores so HURRY!)

That's cool... in mid December I posted a picture from a friend lining in a Best Buy in New York... he bought two PS4s but the line was really big that he even thought he won't get one... thankful he could get these two (he wanted 3 to sell one here and make money).

One month late and the lines didn't stopped... crazy.

Impressive....People that think PS4 won't sell too much this upcoming months forget the fact there's still a lot of people that wanted to buy a ps4 since launch, and by lot, i mean probably millions in USA, so is more than probably PS4 will sell around 500-600k in January in USA alone.

And probably will keep an average of 500k per month in USA until June....

Edit: Wii sold an average of 360k through January-June 2007 in USA.

i'd really like to know the unit per month production rate of sony and microsoft right now. are they similar or does one company produce more than the other?

so 1.4 million ps4s and 1 millon xbox ones per month, good to know...

That number is too high. Also Sony didn't start manufacturing Sept 1. (There were actually pictures floating around of XBox Ones with August dates on the label, so the same goes for Microsoft). My guess is both companies rounded up their numbers and flew in December stock. Actual shipping numbers are due in a few days so we might know somewhat more from these numbers, and January numbers might show the lack of stock for January on ships.

From what I know Sony have two factories working in PS4 manufacture... that's give them 1.5m consoles manufactured per month.

But I don't think TSMC can produce 1.5m PS4's APUs per month... they have to produce to nVidia, AMD, Microsoft and others. So I believe TSMC is supplying Sony with ~1.2m chips max per month... 1m is not out of question too.

What can happen in the next months is TSMC decreasing the production of Xbone's APUs due MS started to ask less because the slow demand of the console... so this space can be fit with more PS4's APUs for Sony if they want.

But I don't know how the contract between TSMC and Sony works... or even the TSMC and MS.

Were lines in your Target?

No, but we didn't know we were going to get them when we did. We do have people still calling looking for some.

Its funny how stupid gamers are when they line up for a console without games.

Over 30 games were launched to PS4 already...

At this rate, it will be difficult to buy a PS4 in store this year. Forget USA and western Europe countries, most of the eastern Europe and Middle East countries barely got any consoles even though they are listed in the countries in which PS4 was officially launched. In my country the first and the only shipment was pathetic, like 2000 consoles and they were all bought by the store employees, there wasn't really a launch even though we are oficially listed. There is crazy demand in here too and nobody knows when will be the next shipment.

I'm from Malaysia and I never see PS4 stock. Even at Sony store i only saw Angry bird games. Other games sold out.
