Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why is Xbox One portrayed as the "COD Console" when the game is actually selling more on the PS4?

Its been a myth for a long time now.

As far as im aware CoD was always more popular on X360 than PS3 so yeah, not so long.

@Op -  I havent heard one person say this about the XBO and PS4.  Most people just say Ghosts isnt good and moves on.  As of this very moment all you can say is that CoD is selling more on PS4 than XBO, primarily because the european market, week headstart,  30+ markets compared to 13, 3.4m vs 2.5m etc Whether or not this continues in coming years is something we will have to wait and see.

It is no secret tha PS4 has had the best launch, it is to be expected that Multiplat games would be selling more on a console with 900k more consoles in the wild.

But again i havent heard one person say that XBO is a CoD console.

Actually it's also selling more on the PS4 in the US(Xbox land)

I trust no one, not even myself.

It' a new gen. The new consoles aren't really defied by any game yet excluding exclusives. LOL!

The 360 though, still the cod console of choice. If there is any impression, it's because of advertisement.

I said primarily, not the only.

It is down by 80k in America and 190k in Europe.   They are selling very similar in America to one another where as Europe is simply outselling it.  Once again also being a week behind.

Now compare those numbers to console sales and you can see why. PS4 stock shortages are the main reason for this. Once PS4 stock meets demand I can easily see ps4 us cod sales overtake xbone's by much more.

There is more PS4's in America than XBO as well so no it isnt just that.

Yes when new consoles are bought that means attach ratios go up but the complete attatch ratio is actually higher on XBO than on PS4.  Does this really matter?  No of course not.  Why you want to judge launch games that usually always have high attach ratios because few games i dont know.  To get a better understanding to where people stand wait for the next two years.  Or even wait for the next 12 months with ghosts rather than talking about the launch period.

its what the mlg's like.. its how it is you can still do mlg on the ps4 and get money i also think microsoft sponsors/pays mlg for this but thats just my theory....

Purely by looking at ratios you will get what im saying

cod fish sales: .78/.70 = 1.114 in favor of ps4

PS4/xbone sales: 1.72/1.56 = 1.102 in favor of ps4

45.3% ps4 owners bought ghosts in the us

while 44.9% xbone owners bought ghosts in the us

Ratios are pretty close and ps4 has kz shadowfall which prob ate into ps4 cod sales as well.

Numbers are numbers and ps4 is taking xbox's cod pie right now in the us.

it was the 360 that was referred as the shooter box b/c alot of its exclusives are shooters L4D Gears Halo Cod (preferred for 360 b/c was superior version and dlc exclusiveness)

also the 360 was dominate in western markets and all 3rd party shooters sold more on it giving the image that 360 gamers only buy shooters

cod ghost and bf4 are selling more on ps4 b/c they are the superior versions and b/c there are more ps4 in gamers hands

And again we are comparing launch games......It is very obvious that most Call of Duty fans are playing on neither PS4 or XBO.  Again wait for the coming years instead of arguing over a few thousand difference on a weekly basis.

PS.  America is at  41.42% for XBO and 41.71% for PS4.  Which fits with what I said about similar.  And i also aligned the launches in my last post which is what i was referring to about attach ratios, but i do understand the confusion about that post
