Forums - Sales Discussion - Advertising is the hallmark of a flailing product

Wouldn't you agree?

I actually enjoy commercials, not because of the products being shown, but because of the companies running them.

Whenever I wonder about the success of a product, as soon as I see an ad for it, I know there's likely problems ahead.

The more I see an ad, the more dire the situation.

This is especially true when it comes to television, aside from cases like Super Bowl, or during major television shows like SYTYCD.

No.

Cocacola and McDonalds beg to differ.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

No wonder the iPhone never managed to sell it was all those ads.

What the hell, Prof. It's like I disagree with virtually everything you post lately.

I totally disagree. Advertising puts increases product awareness, or can be a call to action, or can remind people that your product is still available.

I'm in the industry (though nothing related to video games) and for many products advertising is very important. From a TV spot to a twitter account advertising is a big thing. That's why we use it.

Most products that become wildly successful is in some part due to advertising.
