Smash Bros right after Mario Kart? I don't buy it. I can't see Smash coming out before E3.

They did on Wii

So, exactly like the Wii huh...

Smash Bros Brawl - March 2008
Mario Kart Wii - April 2008

both were released in Spring 2008

A little over a year after the console's launch, too.

Maybe it is possible....

It will fit actually as the same exact date. Also, 3D World fits with Super Mario Galaxy release.

This time though, we didn't get a Prime 3, Super Paper Mario, WarioWare (Game & Wario isn't 1/10 of WarioWare), Excite Truck and so on in the meantime. Those early days of the Wii... Kinda miss them I think, but then we now actually have the games we all spent waiting for those years.

In Europe Brawl was delayed to June, so we got Mario Kart first in 2008. And on topic, I am fairly certain Smash will release around June, with MK in april. Then we have three huge first party games every two months. That's fantastic compared to this year... Then Bayonetta, X and hopefully Zelda towards the end next year.

Yep.

If MK8 and SSB come before May it will be the perfect time to buy a WiiU, really waiting for those. I doubt X will come out this year.

I honestly can't wait for Donkey Kong .
just sayin'

I don't mean in general, I mean specifically in this instance I don't think this Smash will be ready that soon.

i doubt it. They barely shown any actual gameplay, we dont even know most of the roster. And we havent seen anything from the 3ds versio. Im supposed to believe that they are going to get TWO games out in such a short time? I dont buy it. And IMHO i dont want it to come out this soon, I dont want them rushing anything. This game needs to not be a let down like the last Smash was.

Well, Melee was rushed, and it's very good. Also, Brawl was constantly delayed due to that useless cutscenes and that adventure mode or so. SSB4 won't have all of that, so it is logical to be ready before.

Let's not forget something very important: Wii U is not Wii. Wii U is not selling like Wii, and that's why they'll look to release as many game as possible.

was Melee really rushed? When did dev. start? First time hearing about it. Fair enough, that whole subspace was a waste of time, could have been better spent making sure the online worked.

I know WIi U is not Wii and that is what worries me. Release as many games as possible is not really a good thing IMHO, that means less time is devoted to each in a desperate panic to move consoles. That means games will be rushed and they wont be as good as they could be. We've already seen something similar with 3ds, Mario Kart 7 was a fine game, but it could have been so much more, but they wanted out by the holidays because they needed to sell more 3ds. I rather have the WIi U struggle and have really good games, than them just putting whatever as fast as they can to get a boost here and there.

As far as I know, yes, altought, doesn't look like that. And well, it was basically a launch game. Launch games tend to be rushed.

For the other part, I said before, this is basically GameCube and that's why I'm pretty sure Nintendo is going to release as many games as possible, including Zelda for holiday 2014.

It doesnt sound like you have any concrete evidence to say it was rushed. For all we know they could have been working on the game since they started working on the GC as a concept. It didnt look or feel rushed because it probably wasnt rushed.  We've been gaming long enough to tell if a game was rushed or not. But we might have to agree to disagree on this point.

Not disagreeing with that, i just dont think thats really a good thing, especially since many consider the GC to have the weakest library of Ninty 1st party titles on a home console (not me)

I hope that For has an adventure mode, it just doesn't need to have as large a memory footprint as SSE did. The story in SSE was just meh (not bad, could've been better with the source material), and not worth the time and energy spent on it. Something like The Great Maze (or, from Super Star, the Great Cave Adventure).

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I doubt it, we would know for sure by now.

That would be the best time to do so. As any hype they had during the holiday's would have died down by then, and it will need a big boost by then and through the Summer. Not sure what else is releasing between now and then though. If nothing, then ..yah...it will need a few big hits early in the year. Smash in early spring and kart in summer. Then Zelda next Christmas.

It's the best move. They can generate even more hype and a bigger boost than this holiday. All those games in one year is the best move. For 2015 the can have Yarn Yoshi, SMTxFE, Animal Crossing, Metroid, Mario Party, another 2D or 3D Mario, more DLC, etc.

I'm expecting Yoshi, FE and X to come out during the holidays of 2014, and Zelda for Xmas 2015.

Smash will be out by next Summer when everyone is out of school. Atleast too me, its the number one game to sit arround for hours on end with friends, and not just online. I think Zelda will be out in November 2014 too. They are going to gain alot of momentum after Kart/Smash and E3 and they would be wise to capitalize on it next holiday season. 3DS sales will start creeping downwards too so they will need the Wii U to pick up the slack.
