There is a lot of noise on forums etc right now… and some will be true and some will be false, thats just how it is. Do i think MS are struggling…yep, but do i think we need this constant "daily news".. no. At the end of the day, people will buy either console, and just like RROD or SonyNetwork Hack or anything else, we all live by our choices and it will be upto the console manufacturers to make the least mistakes.
Let's start with some basic stuff. Games/OS crashing before being released… This is strangely enough perfectly ok… it's not brilliant but when you are working to tight deadlines then yes it can certainly happen, and when you are making demos for people of incomplete games you are certainly hoping no issues arise. But you are normally doing this before the actual features of the game are complete, so there is no way you can reduce or prevent these issues easily. These major issues get solved later on in the development.
Day 1 patches are a must for either console. Writing OS/UI frontend systems to support a console must be extremely difficult, and of course there will be issues to resolve and features to fix/improve. I would say MS certainly have a little more hassle because they had to rip out the DRM stuff… but it's not a total uphill battle because they are just reverting to 360 methods of it working - so the unknowns are known :)
What I am seeing is fool journalists on the internet creating trouble with little hints and "I Cant say something, but something is happening" - fuelling the flames to get more hits/followers etc. Some of them are a bit of a joke to be honest and calling them journalist seems a bad thing to do considering they are no where near journalistic material.
Do i think MS are having problems with getting their games finished, yes. Do I think 3rd parties are having problems getting their games ready on 6 different platforms, yes. But *Ultimately* what's the point of random speculation when we can just see the results in a few weeks time. All these people just looking for hits.
