Forums - Sony Discussion - Vita TV interest stronger than expected in West, Sony admits

It's bizarre that it's not at least coming with a remote control in order to get some sales from people looking for a media player.

Maybe it's compatible with the PS remote control? They wouldn't be able to offer it for $99 if they included a remote, so it's a good move on their part, though they could make a bundle with the remote instead of a DS.

I'd buy it day 1 if it was 1080p. Now I think I'll wait a year or so and see if they release a redesigned version with 1080p. This is the only thing that I just can't understand :/ Why wouldn't Sony go for full HD?

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

What did you expect Sony! A very small AppleTV (Netflix, HBO GO, Hulu, Video Unlimited, Youtube, Vimeo, ESPN, NBA TV, MLB TV, Eurosport etc.) combined with the quality of PlayStation (Vita, PSP, PSOne, indie and PS3+PS4 games through Gaikai).

I don't really want it unless it plays all vita games and not a select few, the dualshock has extra buttons so that should compensate for the touch screen controls.

and if it plays most vita games, and a majority of psp games, and all ps1 games, and a lot of ps2 games, and a decent amount of ps3 games, and all ps4 games?

I don't buy games digitally so PS1 and PS2 have no effect on me and Ill have a PS4 to play my PS4 games.  I also already have a PS3 which btw I don't think its confirmed to play PS3 games.  If I buy this its just gonna be to play my Vita games on the big screen.

I think they're gonna drop the ball on this one. All they have to do is make it so that, the Vita can be used as a controller for the device. I'd buy the Vita TV And a Vita.

And it's funny how some people on here said playing portable games on a big screen was pointless, because it sounds like a lot of people want to do just that.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

it has been confirmed to support gaikai which as been confirmed to play ps3 games.

this is a streaming device to compete with chromecast and roku and apple tv and whatever else which a really unique ability to play a whole slew of really high quality games.

duh its a cheaper vita that can be used on a tv

Hope it does well enough in Japan (which I think it will) so Sony can bring this to western markets. For such a cheap price and all the things it can do it should do really well.

Please Sony bring this to NA so I can buy one!
