I beg to differ, Killer Instinct always had relatively top-notch graphics, on the SNES they used Pre-rendered 3D characters and stages which gave the game a very unique graphical feel.
On the Arcade they even used FMV video. :)
That was kinda' a big deal back in those days, heck other than Donkey Kong (Also made by RARE) I don't think another game came close on the 16-bit consoles, Mortal Kombat certainly didn't.

However I personally beleive we have been at a point with fighters for a long time that leaps in graphics aren't going to be as pronounced/noticeable as say a First Person shooter.
But having incredible lighting and grand set-pieces aren't to be under-estimated in my opinion.

Yes true, but Killer Instinct is known by it's unconventional combo links, music and atmosphere.

At this day and age graphics shouls be a bonus, because music production and gameplay is much more valued than graphics nowadays compared to Snes days when people used to look for "real" graphics/looking people.

I'm looking forward to this game. It looks like a lot of fun.

I only play fighting games when friends are over, because they very much feel like social games to me. I wouldn't play them much by myself, but they're great when you have company.

I really like the look of it but I just hope they haven't made it 'easy' to play. Ultras are meant to be hard for a reason, yet nearly every gameplay I've seen, someone has pulled them off as scripted.

Can't wait for KI, getting the ONE primarily for this game. Local tourneys were the best

Combat looks slick. Very interested



Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Ultra combos were never hard, they could only be performed mid normal combo when the opponent had low life left is all.  From memory Orchid only need you hold back for 2 seconds then press forward and medium punch.  Others were just as simple.

The long combo of one was scripted.

You say that like people will just let you.

The SGC secret game thing was odd, 2 people knew perfectly how to play the game and pull off an ultra as well...scripted.

90s designs were fine, just update them. Glacius looks all jagged here, yet he's ice so should be smooth. Sabrewolf should be grey/blue, not blue.

Lets just see how they show Orchid, then we know what kind of market the developers are aiming at. :P
