Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Killer Instinct 2013: Behind The Scenes at DoubleHelix (GameTrailers)

Killer Instinct needs to do a few things right before I jump on-board, the original Killer Instinct was full of atmosphere, not just in the visuals but the Audio too.

The build-up before you even get into the menu just screams awesome from the moment you powered on the SNES.
Got fond memories of the game as it was essentially the only game I played for a couple of years on the SNES when I was younger.

Announce Fulgore and Riptor and this game will be perfect!!

Fulgore Riptor Orchid and Spinal were all confirmed in an interview.

TJ Combo.
I will buy X1 just for Killer Instinct if it repeats the greatness it had on previous systems.
C-C-Combo Breaker. No fighting game plays like KI.
And none had a soundtrack like it also.

I hope it really is better than the previous KIs!!! looks beautiful!

This is another exclusive that could very well move major hardware.

I think so too and in combination with other exclusives like forza, ryse, dr3, c dragon the xbox will sell very well. We still don't know about the two games Rare is working on (they have 3 teams) and lionhead. Maye they will reveal those titles in the next months.

I aalready pre ordered at the MS store. I'm going to have so much fun with Xbox One. TV stuff included

Killer I. is all about combos and music. Graphics never really mattered( although they showed just alpha stage).

If they can bring all the characters back along with good music and peculiar combo fluidity a la KI, they have nothing to worry about.

This game has not got the attention it has deserved. This game looks great. I'm really excited. There are so many games I'm excited about.

Oh, wow. I have extremely high expectations for this game. I don't even want to know more and just outright buy it.

I beg to differ, Killer Instinct always had relatively top-notch graphics, on the SNES they used Pre-rendered 3D characters and stages which gave the game a very unique graphical feel.
On the Arcade they even used FMV video. :)
That was kinda' a big deal back in those days, heck other than Donkey Kong (Also made by RARE) I don't think another game came close on the 16-bit consoles, Mortal Kombat certainly didn't.

However I personally beleive we have been at a point with fighters for a long time that leaps in graphics aren't going to be as pronounced/noticeable as say a First Person shooter.
But having incredible lighting and grand set-pieces aren't to be under-estimated in my opinion.
