No different than Sony adding the rumble feature back in after fan outcry. They didn't do it to make you happy they did it because they wouldn't have made as much money if they didn't do it.

Microsoft executives sat around the table and decided to change direction because of money. Bottom line.

And for how ever long each company is in the console race that will be the only deciding factor.

How can they easily stick with it? If they stick with it they will piss off retailers even more. Atleast with the DRM plan retailers could still get the first sale. Without the drm plan people would have a greater incentive to buy digital. They can't do it now for the same reason they can't lower the price of digital games.
