Forums - Gaming Discussion - Next gen offers not much except for graphics

Am I the only one that is underwhelmed by next gen games? Almost every games could be done on current gen heck some even on PS2 era... they bring nothing new. The only thing I was interrested in was in Forza 5 with Drivatar from the clouds where every car behaves like real people playing... other than that I feel like they are affraid to use properly other things... I hope they do more stuff with the new Kinect, I want next gen to be more than pretty graphics... Am I the only one?

are you including wiiu games in this thread or not?

You came to the conclusion through the videos alone? Man, have we not learned already that games should be played, not watched, in order to build a respectable opinion?

Either that, or it's that mentality of "the game looks pretty damn beautiful. Therefore, it only has graphics, and no gameplay".

It bringing all these new social media features so I can annoy my real life friends with my gaming nerdiness! Game changer!

Not really and it's a shame as I don't hate WiiU I just don't put them in the same basket as MS and Sony... I plan on buying one for the controller alone as I'm not sold on it but I'm curious to see what it offers.

I'm with you 100% bud. I miss the old days when games were about the music, the characters, the story, the fun....

My most anticipated "next gen" game is Second Son, and that's not saying much. I am very happy with how Nintendo is handling the next generation of gaming, by giving me the Smash I've always wanted, on both the 3DS and the U, as well as a very appealing new mario kart with lots of great visuals and fun gameplay features. I am most looking forward to Nintendo's work and am almost ready to say fuck the rest. Bar the exception or two.

I wish everyone would take this advice with Super Mario 3D World.

Thats why I own a Wii U. well, will own a Wii U

Next gen offers a lot of non-gaming. On the X1 and PS4 deliberately, on the Wii U by accident.

You mean it's an accident that Nintendo has released zero Wii U games for the past 6 months?

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

What will be so different? The controllers are the same, 12 buttons, two triggers and that's it... PSOne (MS copied Sony again :P ) had those. PS4 has a track pad on their controller... cool... but how do they use it? Nothing is showed, the games seem to play exactly how they would play on PS3 or PS2...

They are right there with their cameras but people are so whining about these technologies that sometimes I wonder if devs are not shy of using them properly. Cameras, motion, mics, the clouds... they have so many inputs... use them!!!

I know they are first gen titles but I need to feel the next gen not only on pretty graphics...
