Can we get a remix of FOUR HUNDRED AND NINETY NINE US DOLLARS-FOUR HUNDRED AND NINETY NINE US DOLLARS!!!

I mean that combined with Live and this is gonna be one expensive console for you to be able to even be able to play multiplayer. Pretty much almost the same as PS3 at launch. The conference though was an absolute blast. Megaton after megaton. I will give them massive props for all the exclusives they showed. Crazy stuff. Really enjoyed it.

The UK pricing is really bad, really.

£429 is essentially $666.

Then you add on the Live sub.

Sorry OT, but is VGC lagging a lot right now or is it just my internet?

IMO the hardware itself isn't worth that price. Is Kinect really driving up the price that much?

The exclusvies games are killer though. Only on Xbox One so it depends how much these exclusives appeal to you.

650$ in UK!

I trust no one, not even myself.

The US price is fine, but the UK price is just taking the piss. It costs more than PS3 (launched at £425) did here at £429!

Eh, if you take inflation into account, you're looking at it being about 80 quid cheaper than PS3 at launch. Still, Sony had a terrible time at that price point, and I think MS will, too.

The reasons behind the price discrepancies are obvious. Why the hell would anyone want Euros or pounds (which is heavily dependant on the EU) these days? Ergo, it's going to take a lot more of them to convince companies to depart with their goods than it would more perceived-to-be "valuable" currencies. There's a stronger chance the dollar will still be around in 3 years time than there is the Euro, and so there's less risk associated, so they are happier with fewer of them.

Also, take into account higher shipping costs, higher taxes, and a less harmonionized market (lower economies of scale), and all this adds to up to this wallet-melting price.

But how does that equate to a $160 difference? There's no way VAT and shipping is that expensive to make such a difference. That's £100 difference for the same product!

HIgh traffic. I wouldn't be surprised if servers crashed today.

LOL i am sure Sony ps4 would cost 499 . considering what you get the price is decent. At least its better then ps3 price of 599

Too high of a price
