Multiplatforms make the PS3/360 such amazing systems, I agree, but if it's mostly MP's that you're interested in, then it's fair to say that PS4 is interesting to you too?
So what makes you want a 720 over a PS4 then? Do you really like XBL that much more then PSN, worth paying $60 annually for? Is that potential Rare game really the deciding factor between PS4 and 720?

I have a 360, and I love the exclusives for it. However, it's because I love these franchises that I'm sick of MS. I can only play so much Forza, Gears and Halo, I need something new, or at least something I haven't seen in a while (like a Conker game) to keep me entertained. MS kinda gave up on the core gamer after 2009, that's why I feel burnt by them, and while the difference from 360 to PS3 isn't huge, I really like how Sony is consistent.

this gen I bought a 360 over PS3 mainly because none of the PS3 exclusives interested me, it was more expensive, i prefered the controller on 360, it didn't have Gears of War or Mass Effect (this was in 2008), more friends I knew owned a 360, better online (i only buy one month of live when I need to)
who knows maybe PS4 will have exclusives that takes my fancy if not then it'll be same as buying an Xbox (for me atleast) but right now it all depends on which has a cheaper price tag
I think out of the 42 games i bought for 360 only six are exclusives excluding both Mass Effect games

LOL, I'm in a similar boat, but then I actually played Uncharted. I thought it was a silly game at first, no different then Tomb Raider, but the game is actually really fun, and really funny. InFamous as well, I had no interest in it at first, but then I liked it a lot.
I still prefer Gears of War, and Mass Effect over Uncharted and InFamous, but I like PS3 a bit better atm because too much Gears is annoying. Halo I used to love, but now, not so much, and Forza = GT IMO. I like how PS3 is still getting big name exclusives, with The Last of Us and Tales of Xillia looking particularly interesting to me, I like how they are new games, not just sequels or experiences we've had before, and I love how PSN is free. I don't play online much, and there is no "pay as you play" plan for XBL, so it makes it really expensive to play online if I pnly want to play now and then.
Anyway I bought my 360 in 2007, it had a lot of better looking exclusives at the time (Mass Effect, Gears of War, Halo 3, Lost Planet, etc), but as amazing as early 360 exclusives were, Ms just couldn't keep up the performance IMO. So you might not have felt burnt by 360, but I kinda do, mostly because I'm sick of the same main franchises. I mean I played my Wii more then my 360 in the last 12 months because Wii got Skyward Sword, XenoBlade, The Last Story and now Pandora's Tower, all new IP's except for Zelda, which is a dramatically different game from the last Zelda released 6 years prior.
I'm still hyped for 720, but I'm leaning at getting a PS4, mostly because it's more reliable (I'm on my 4th 360, which I worry will also break soon), free PSN, and a consistant supply of new games. I'll still likely get a 720, I have every Nintendo/Sega/Sony/MS console and I don't plan to stop buying them now, but I'll get a 720 in 2019/2020 when I can get the system new for <$200 and each AAA exclusive for $20 a pop or so.
