I hope they do support the japanese market, even if they didn't really progress in it with the 360. The amount of japanese content that the Xbox was getting in its early life was great! Dead Rising is another brilliant example.

Dead Rising would appeal to more then just the Japanese, but I know what you mean. I bought my 360 largely because of all the great JRPG's, and then MS just stopped publishing them.

Xbox 720 / Xbox Loop / Xbox 8 / Durango
CPU: AMD "Jaguar" 8-core 1,6 Ghz
GPU: AMD 1,23/1,43 TFLOPS
RAM: 8Gb DDR3 68 Gb/s + 32Mb ESRAM 102Gb/s

Comparison:
CPU = TIE
GPU = Winner Playstation 4
RAM = Winner Playstation 4

Result:
Playstation 4 will be best console. graphically

So graphics == quality? So XB1 was better then PS2 I guess.

---

Nextbox and PS4 will both game the same multiplatform titles, arguements about graphics are stupid because the exclusives will look 95% the same (graphically). It's all about the games, I don't think Halo fans envy Killzone for graphics on the PS3/360, and the gap will only be smaller next gen.

Because raw power always wins console wars.  Just look at how the original Xbox destroyed the PS2 in sales.  And subsequently, how the PS3 and 360 outsold the Wii by leaps and bounds.

Actually, it's often that the least powerful system sells the most unit, so he technically argued that the PS4 is the worst console .

Source: VGC PS1>N64>Staurn sales, PS2>GC=XB sales, Wii>360=PS3 sales, DS>PSP sales, 3DS>PSV sales, etc.

It's amazing to me that after all these years, there is so much Xbox hate.

People ranting or saying the new Xbox will suck and Microsoft has already dropped the ball, when Microsoft has even shown the system to the public.

Amazing just amazing.

What is Playstation Nation afraid of the, Xbox 720 outdoing your beloved PS4.

Come on if that's it you can tell me I won't tell anybody.

I am glad Internet Gamers are in the minority because 77 Million people own Xbox 360. Which means nobody cares what you are saying. HA!

I am excited for the Xbox 720 and so are these guys. HA!

...so after making an article declaring how huge a success the 720 is, the people who list reasonable doubts about it are "hating?"

At least the concerns voiced so far are actually things with a decent liklihood of becoming true. Much more likely than Kinect interactable NPCs, that's for sure.

I'm not going to come out and say that the 720 has no chance to be successful at all. That's not what I'm attempting to argue. But the OP is an incredibly unrealistically bright picture of the future for the 720. Microsoft has made several mistakes in getting ready to announce the 720. If they rectify some of these mistakes in announcing it, then its outlook may turn around sharply. At the moment, though, there's plenty of cause for concern.

And, I might add, getting upset at someone for taking rumors into account when you yourself reference nothing but pure speculation and other rumors is hypocriscy at its finest.

the price tag and the always online are only just rumors and have never been confirmed by anybody

Indeed, although what exactly were you expecting in a discussion several weeks before the 720's announcement?

This is a completely speculative topic. Nothing's set in stone yet.

Despite this, it's safe to say that Microsoft has, at the very least, made mistakes in both departments. If "always online" was not going to happen, than they should have cleared that up immediately after the Twitter explosion. Same goes for the price tag; although we certainly can't expect to know precisely how much the 720 will cost when released, we should at least be able to have a ballpark number a mere two and a half weeks before the launch. Keeping speculation floating around like this is bad for not only your company image, but also begins to plant doubt in other people.

Now, addressing the validity of the rumors, the same argument can be made that would suggest that these rumors are correct. Considering all the bad press Microsoft has gotten because of them, wouldn't you think that if these rumors were false, Microsoft would have cleared them up in much the same way that Sony dealt with the "no used games" rumors? I'm going to assume that Microsoft isn't run by idiots, and they know that if they can stop bad press, they will. The fact that they haven't is more than a little worrying.

I also might add that both these rumors are far more based than "50 gigs of Blu-ray memory," or  "Kinect discussing with NPCs."

"The internet equivalent of "I don't have any sort of half thought out response to that "

what was he supposed to respond to? from reading your post its clear you don't know what you're talking about :

"If "always online" was not going to happen, than they should have cleared that up immediately after the Twitter explosion"

...and they did afterwards they reported quite clearly that they never had any intention of pursuing always online features

"both these rumors are far more based than "50 gigs of Blu-ray memory,""

it has been said that the next xbox will in fact use bluray and seeing as how the wii u uses discs of a similar capacity the chances of that being the case raise considerably

imo for how aggressive you seem to be you really hardly have any backing at all to your statements so settle down

well I can't speak for everyone else but I sure am i hyped for it

Destiny, Cyberpunk 2077, Watch Dogs, new Black tusk studios IP, new Rare IP, better Xbox Live features, and possible more when we actually see MSFT confirm it

Also there is nothing wrong with integrating Media and Videogames unless there are less games being produced

Did you own a 360? I can understand why people who haven't owned a 360 are excited for the 720, heck I bought my 360 wanting something different from Sony, and XB1 Rare games (like Conker) were actually good.

Also half the games you mentioned are multiplatform.

I do own a 360 for five years now, and what difference does it make if their multiplatform? they're games that i'm excited about

I never felt like I got burned by MS because I buy more multiplatform than exclusives even when I had gamecube I bought more multiplatform games

Multiplatforms make the PS3/360 such amazing systems, I agree, but if it's mostly MP's that you're interested in, then it's fair to say that PS4 is interesting to you too?

So what makes you want a 720 over a PS4 then? Do you really like XBL that much more then PSN, worth paying $60 annually for? Is that potential Rare game really the deciding factor between PS4 and 720?

---

I have a 360, and I love the exclusives for it. However, it's because I love these franchises that I'm sick of MS. I can only play so much Forza, Gears and Halo, I need something new, or at least something I haven't seen in a while (like a Conker game) to keep me entertained. MS kinda gave up on the core gamer after 2009, that's why I feel burnt by them, and while the difference from 360 to PS3 isn't huge, I really like how Sony is consistent.

this gen I bought a 360 over PS3 mainly because none of the PS3 exclusives interested me, it was more expensive, i prefered the controller on 360, it didn't have Gears of War or Mass Effect (this was in 2008), more friends I knew owned a 360, better online (i only buy one month of live when I need to)

who knows maybe PS4 will have exclusives that takes my fancy if not then it'll be same as buying an Xbox (for me atleast) but right now it all depends on which has a cheaper price tag

I think out of the 42 games i bought for 360 only six are exclusives excluding both Mass Effect games

So you haven't played Alan Wake?!

And by the way, you should keep an eye on Dark. But yeah, I get what you're saying.

LOL, I'm in a similar boat, but then I actually played Uncharted. I thought it was a silly game at first, no different then Tomb Raider, but the game is actually really fun, and really funny. InFamous as well, I had no interest in it at first, but then I liked it a lot.

I still prefer Gears of War, and Mass Effect over Uncharted and InFamous, but I like PS3 a bit better atm because too much Gears is annoying. Halo I used to love, but now, not so much, and Forza = GT IMO. I like how PS3 is still getting big name exclusives, with The Last of Us and Tales of Xillia looking particularly interesting to me, I like how they are new games, not just sequels or experiences we've had before, and I love how PSN is free. I don't play online much, and there is no "pay as you play" plan for XBL, so it makes it really expensive to play online if I pnly want to play now and then.

Anyway I bought my 360 in 2007, it had a lot of better looking exclusives at the time (Mass Effect, Gears of War, Halo 3, Lost Planet, etc), but as amazing as early 360 exclusives were, Ms just couldn't keep up the performance IMO. So you might not have felt burnt by 360, but I kinda do, mostly because I'm sick of the same main franchises. I mean I played my Wii more then my 360 in the last 12 months because Wii got Skyward Sword, XenoBlade, The Last Story and now Pandora's Tower, all new IP's except for Zelda, which is a dramatically different game from the last Zelda released 6 years prior.

I'm still hyped for 720, but I'm leaning at getting a PS4, mostly because it's more reliable (I'm on my 4th 360, which I worry will also break soon), free PSN, and a consistant supply of new games. I'll still likely get a 720, I have every Nintendo/Sega/Sony/MS console and I don't plan to stop buying them now, but I'll get a 720 in 2019/2020 when I can get the system new for <$200 and each AAA exclusive for $20 a pop or so.

Keep on eye on Perfect Dark? I will, but my expectations are low after Zero.

I've played Alan Wake, and I love it. I know Alan Wake and Heavy Rain are different games, but I strongly prefer Alan Wake over Heavy Rain. Still post 2009, is that it? If I had a good PC (which I will soon) I could just play that on PC too.

I know I sound harsh on Microsoft, but they really change their market strategy after 2009. I don't like the "new Xbox" style of gaming. I mean it's so Kinect focused (ignored the 75% of 360 owners who don't own a Kinect), and everything good they did pre-2009, they abandoned. No more JRPG, or heck RPG exclusives anymore, it's no longer the cheapest console, no more free online for Silver Account holders on select games (and Games for PC), a dozen ads when you turn on your system, no more discount or free DLC on old games, and achievements on 1st party games designed to force you to purchase a game now, play a game using Kinect, or purchase XBLG.

360 just left a sour taste in my mouth, and in all my years of gaming, a console has never left me sour. Disappointed and unsatisfied (Sega cd, Virtual Boy, GameGear, etc), yes, sour, no.

No. I've said Dark.
