Wow... sometimes I wonder  if gamers on forums are having fun playing games because a lot seem to piss on anything that is not "true console non motion exclusive to their console of choice"... 

Am I the only one that think it's annoying that game forums threads are mostly fanboys whining over who "wins" this or that?  Why was there so many threads about Vita's lack of sales but very few threads about Vita's games? Why? Why so many pixel comparison threads and why Kinect/Move are sooooo bad, why whining all the time about casuals boohoo my grandma gets attention from devs now... I still get a lot of games but I want all the attention to go towards me... why this constant need to compare consoles power when they are virtually the same? Why do some seem to be on a crusade to talk trash about all "rival" consoles? Threads are derailed to no end because some idiot wants to make sure everyone knows how better their OPINIONS are! And more idiots are applauding and supporting these idiots... 

I remember when I first came to this site it was because I could get info on games,  people were talking about how said game was meant to be played or if it was any good WHETHER IT WAS EXCLUSIVE OR NOT!!! 

The sad thing is that it's not only here. I visit a lot of forums on other sites and the fanboyism disease seems to be spread all over the world. It's sad, gaming is fun it really is, but talking about gaming with "gamers" on forums is not anymore. 

Do you think there is still hope for gaming forums?

As soon as new software starts rolling in then we can start discussing how good/bad a game is.

But there's a slight drought going on, at times like these we talk sales and speculate.

So for the whole 2012 no games were released... no good games at all? I only have a 360 and yet I bought 5 games this year, Halo4, Trials Evolution, Deadlight, Dance Central 3, Mass Effect 3 and Forza 4 (not released this year but still)... what are you guys playing?

Maybe there really is a gaming crash coming soon... I don't know...

The internet has become even more mainstream. As this happens the maturity level is bound to decrease. With faster computers and smartphones it takes almost zero effort to put your opinions online.

Yes, there had been an extraordinary amount of puffing up and hot air. Hopefully, it will die down a bit soon.

But me, I am catching up on an 'old one.' I'm play Red Dead Redemption and having a great time.  (Except for the annoying save system - or lack of a good one.)

it's a sales site so it makes sense that people compare sales but what i don't understand are those guys who don't own a console but go in ever second thread about one of those console's games just to say how this game is so bad or how this game is a shame for a gamer or whatever.

seriously, if you don't even own the console and did probably never play the games you are talking about we already know that you don't care about it, otherwise you would probably own it. let people who are interested in it have a normal discussion and don't derail those threads just because you don't like when other people have fun with consoles or games you don't like. or even worse, talking shit about games because they are not on the console you own even if you would kove to play them.

not many people do that but even a small minority is enough to change a thread very easily in a direction someone who like to play that game doesn't want to.

Huh? Sim City and Tomb Raider just launched. Crysis 3 and Dead Space 3 launched last month. Gears of War Judgement and God of War Ascension are coming out in the next few weeks. In what way is that a drought?
